I hope you are watching this. Senator Carl Levin just asked the team who planned this purchase of the ports, words to the effect of:

Did any of you read the 9/11 committee report in which it's indicated that the United Arab Emirates had a counter-terrorism problem?

Six men stared at Sen. Levin.
He said, "If you spoke at all to the 9/11 commission before making this decision, could you raise your hand?"

Six men stared at Sen. Levin.

You have to watch this.

Kennedy" Did anyone on this panel raise any national security concerns regarding this decision?

Kimmitt, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury:
When the committee was asked to make its judgement, they said there was "not a national security concern on their mind."

"Was this a unanimous vote, or was there anyone who dissented?"

Kimmett says not.
Kennedy asks what national security test was applied in this decision.
Kimmett says ...
??
obfuscation, obfuscation, blah, blah

"Everyone on this panel is struggling with the definition of national security."

Hey, Sbenois, want to look that one up?

"The short answer is....the definition we might have of national security we have in 2006 will look out of date... blah, blah..."
