Military interrogators posing as FBI agents at the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, wrapped terrorism suspects in an Israeli flag and forced them to watch homosexual pornography under strobe lights during interrogation sessions that lasted as long as 18 hours, according to one of a batch of FBI memos released Thursday. http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington/13945827.htm |

Themp- love the title of this thread. If you haven't yet, read the piece in the New Yorker. It deals with Counsel General of the Navy and his repeated objections to torture. Torture is yet another issue that doesn't have a liberal/conservative view. It's just right/wrong, and I think 50 years from now we will find it impossible that people condoned this behavior. I'm still proud to be an American, but I'm ashamed of the choices our government is making in our name. |

In the wake of Bush threatening to use his veto to keep the Dubai deal in place, let's all remember the first time he made that threat: To veto the anti-torture bill. Remember, the one Bush opposed that prohibited "cruel, inhumane or degrading" treatment. Let's all give this guy a big round of applause. Proud to be an American, indeed!!!

Not on the morning after three glasses of sangria, two scotches, and something we did shots with that I have no clue what it was. I am too old to do this kind of stuff anymore. Speaking of consequences, not surprised that the cons are not touching this thread. |

Libertarian: You do have a sense of humor! But seriously, why the Israeli flag? Is it miltary policy to encourage/reinforce anti-semitism? |
