" One of the messages I want to say to the people of Afghanistan is it's our country's pleasure and honor to be involved with the future of this country. We like stories of young girls going to school for the first time so they can realize their potential."

And later…

" I'm going to repeat what I said before: We like stories, and expect stories, of young girls going to school in Afghanistan. It means a lot to the American people to hear the President say that."

I dont need the President to talk like a king. We are pleased and the people are pleased and the people are pleased to hear me say they are pleased.

Please. The man is not eloquent, not even close. He is an oddball at best. My feeling is that he is the guy in the group that everyone snickers at behind his back.

It's their only talking point on Afghanistan and has been for years. He got tangled up and started reading the stage directions instead of the dialogue.

BUSH: You know, it's interesting, you said that one of the things that we love doing is to invite our buddies up from Texas. And I think about the time we had Jones, Procter and Selee . These are guys we grew up with in Midland, Texas. They are down to earth, you know, they have no agenda, except being with their friends Laura and George.

VARGAS: They call you George?

BUSH: No, they call me Mr. President.

VARGAS: I was going to say…

BUSH: They probably don't want to call me Mr. President, but they do call me Mr. President. And we sit up there in the White House. First of all, it's a great joy to see their joy about being here. It's a fantastic experience for people to be able to come here.

Hoops,

The fact you love the Francis trade has to make me wonder about your thoughts on politics as well.
