I am arranging an evening for M.O.L. posters at Heart and Soul in S.O. on March 15. Please see the thread in Food, Wine, Dining., "I Love Heart & Soul." I would like to meet posters on the Soapbox - putting the politics aside for the evening and enjoying each other as neighbors. Deadline for R.S.V.P. is Sunday. |

Sounds great ... but unfortunately I'll be in an airplane flying south at that point. (Although I don't expect to get a chance at any southern food that good ... maybe some good barbecue, though, since I'm headed for Texas.) |

Brokeback. Can we see you there, then. You and Libertarian are some of the people I was hoping to meet. We don't agree on most stuff on this board, but that's half the fun.

I would go but I have scheduled a pilgrimage to the Vatican so that I can pray for the poor lost souls on this board who against all logic still refuse to see how incompetent the current administration is. I figure that my pilgrimage may take many, many days, but I will bear that cross willingly to save the souls of the poor misbegotten Republicans on the board. |

Innis, rather than praying for the souls of us poor Republicans, how about finding a way to get enough people in this country to vote "Democrat" to actually win an election. Unfortunately for you, the performance of the current administration is no way a guarantee of success in the next go-round. |

Yes, grrrrrrrrrrr, how right you are. We are all in a political pickle. I guess we'll all get the best representation that somebody will be willing to pay for. |

I'm not speaking for any other Republicans, but I imagine most are hopeful that we'll trot out a candidate that will at least appoint some competent people to some of the important posts. Bush by far wasn't the first Prez to appoint his poker buddies to Gov't posts...Cronyism has been the preferred method of Presidential appointments since before Gimmel. Due to various factors, Bush's poor choices have not been able to skate through like some of their predecessors. |

I sleep fine CFA. Unfortunately, Innis is one of the few people on MOL with a brain, capable of having adult-level conversations. I've been trying to limit my conversations to those with intelligent posters lately, after having been sucked into the vortex for a bit last week... |
