I've been paying attention, and I think themp is in the top ranks of wittiest and most insightful people on MOL. And in case anyone says anything, no I don't consider myself to be even in the top 10 strata.

Lib doesn't know who themp is in real life. Posted on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 10:58 am: My real name is Mariel Hemingway. I am an actress/model/activist and the granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway, a prominent novelist of the mid-century. You may have seen me around town - I'm quite tall and I have long, full hair. I was in Personal Best and Star 80, and also some Woody Allen films. I spend most of my time in the Village. Say 'hi!" if you see me! |

Yes, but what about Santorum (and DeLay) cynically manipulting charities as cover for political payola? My first reaction was, yeah, you are surprised at this? The more we try to clean up political finance, the more politicians are going to find clever (and not so clever) end-runs around the controls. It is like stepping on a ball of mercury. It won't stop until the American people get really really sick of the whole thing, and that is not going to happen. |
