I don't think I ever told you "May I never see you or your family. Period." I would never say something like that. If I did please provide proof. That is crossing the line. You owe me an apology You can threaten me all you want but when you drag my family into it then we will have an issue.
And you will lose.
Tulip/RL-two peas in a pod. I have been hated by many for not fitting in for practically all my life. Do you think I even remotely care what you two think? I was hated for being a punk rocker in a small conservative town growing up and now some don't like me for being more "traditional" in a liberal town. Go figure...I should write a book...

Can you please give me an example of where I make a threat towards your son? I picked on YOU for holding him up as some martyr for your warped politics all because he got arrested at an anti-war protest rally (whooopeeedooo)but I would never threaten him.
tulip, put yourself in my shoes, if someone said to you " "May I never see you or your family. Period," especially in a thread where I make a birth announcement, how would you take it?
And can I ask, what would you do if you did see my family? Please humor me.

tulip is a lost cause. She lives in a world where her view matters. It's called her house. Once she steps outside it becomes scary to her. However, I just hope she gets her hopes up like the rest of the looney left. It will make Thanksgiving all the more enjoyable for us conservatives. |

I read this thread earlier, but before posting here I decided to wait for it to calm down. Apparently, that may take a while.
As an alternative, I'll pretend that I only read the first post, and just ignored what came after.
Congratulations! If I am remembering correctly, from some of your other posts, the new arrival has an older brother. Being the parent of an older brother myself, I suggest -
1. Ask him for his advice about the new baby. He'll like that.
2. Get him one of those "I'm the Big Brother" shirts. He'll like that.
3. Make sure you are not the only photographer - get a lot of pictures of you, the big brother, and the new arrival together. You'll all like that.
And, finally - our kids are in college and at Columbia High School. They were raised here. This is a great place, and don't even think of going anywhere else. Your kids will be better for it. |

SLK - again you have brought these bad messages on yourself. tulip is a good person, while I dont always agree with her message, at the least she uses fact to guide her. It is you who have attacked her time and time again. In fact everywhere she has posted her opinion you have belittled and mocked her is mean and sometimes cruel ways.
I dont condone what she said but you certainly have no cause to be surprised. |

Excellent advice, No Hero. As a second child myself, I'll just add make sure you take as many pictures and save as many souveniers of the second as you did for the first.
Use what little time you have not taking care of the wee ones getting some sleep. That's my best advice! (Oh, and bring them both to babies story time at the Library) |

It takes a really scared person to read it that way. You told me several months ago you'd be "all over me like a pair of fruit of the looms," and I was disgusted. I am quoting you. I don't have the time to find the statement, but it was somewhere back last winter.
I don't see how that is a kosher thing to say. I don't like the pretense that now everything you do is OK because you have a baby.
Morality doesn't flow from producing offspring.
It flows from being aware of the needs of many people around you, not just yourself.

Unlike many others on this board, I have to work...I mean BE at work for a living. I can't putz around with message boards all day.
So whatever message you send me will have to wait, and scrotis can spew his (ahem) words of wisdom while I can't write back. Seems he can get some traction against me that way, and can attack me and my political views without response from anyone on the board except Hoops (thanks, Hoops) and Robert Livingstone. The rest of the people on MOL couldn't care less what scrotis says to me, to Innis, to RL, and the insults he hurls at us.

Hey, this is what happens when someone's world is rocked, when the politics of the country start to change. Some people who were very right wing start to get nervous and start to look for scapegoats.
It seems that my son and I are scrotis' scapegoats.

Thanks for the support and congrats it is appreciated. You are right, maybe the political board isn't the best idea to post this announcement but it is my politics you all remember me by right?
I am just glad we can put our politics aside for a moment. Even Hoops post was much more tamer than usual.

Hey, maybe I'm wrong, but I find most people, the day after their wife gives birth, have better things to do than poke around on a message board trying to see if people you disagree with politically will offer you congratulations.
