Tough to say what is happening. Clearly someone's memory is getting better. It isn't vitally important at this point. The funny thing is that Bushies like to act as if they "won" this one because some hopes among liberals were not realized, but their guy is at 32% approval in part because stuff like this has crushed his credibility among non-wingnuts. And I believe Mr. Libby was indicted.

themp,
I don't care what the Prez's poll numbers are. As long as a Dem doesn't sit in the Oval Office I am perfectly happy having a Repub who is basically powerless from a legislative viewpoint, even with a Republican Congress. From my viewpoint, this is beautiful. Not one liberal idea or agenda can be pursued with a Repub Pres, and the Congress either doesn't want or can't pass any legislation which I like as well. As you can tell, I don't want DC to do anything, so I am riding high right now. I love gridlock because they can't screw with us if they are too busy pointing fingers. The next 9 months will see nothing but political bluster which is great. I'd love to see tax reform but I don't believe for a minute we will ever see it so I avoid going to Fojland on that issue.

Southerner has invented a made up land, using my name. I am honored.

Southerner is riding high because we have gridlock in Congress. Given this congress, I agree.

Yup, and Southerner is happy to have a powerless president.

Unfortunately, this dolt is not entirely powerless and as a result, the U.S. Iraqui death toll now sits at 2,400 and rising.

--Way to go, George.

By the way, South, please describe the tax reform you would like to see Chimpie and the congress put in place.

Foj,
Your welcome.

Caffrey,
Negative. I am not opening that can of worms. Unlike many posters I am not under the false assumption that my views will change our government. If I want to put my reform in place I will run for elected office. Besides, do we as an MOL community really want yet another tax debate? How many times can we recover the same ground that will never happen? However, my overall plan would be to tax all blue-staters at a 60% clip and tax red-staters at about 3%. This should fall in line with the liberal philosophy of tax the wealthy since we all know all the intelligent, rich folks live in blue states. See, you all knew I was a closet lib.
