From Gonzalez' April 6 testimony to House Judiciary Committee

Quote:

NADLER: Number two, can you assure us that there is no warrantless surveillance of calls between two Americans within the United States?
GONZALES: That is not what the president has authorized.

NADLER: Can you assure us that it's not being done?

GONZALES: As I indicated in response to an earlier question, no technology is perfect.

NADLER: OK.

GONZALES: We do have minimization procedures in place...

NADLER: But you're not doing that deliberately?

GONZALES: That is correct.

As we learned today, the NSA is doing surveillance of all calls intra-U.S. and building a database of them.

I eagerly await the conservative calls for his resignation.

EArlier this year during Senate Judiciary hearings, Gonzalez said we do do domestic to domestic phone tapping w/o a warrant.

I thought you law-and-order types hated it when perps got off on a technicality?

Anyway, I can't tell you how many times my last name has been mangled, so I feel your pain.

Not addressing the issue is Straw's way of saying that he committed perjury.
