Submitted with minimal comment, this is what is being sent around by Democrats.org. I'm <sarcasm>SURE</sarcasm> more details on on the way. But at least it's a start. 1. Honest Leadership & Open Government -- We will end the Republican culture of corruption and restore a government as good as the people it serves. 2. Real Security -- We will protect Americans at home and lead the world by telling the truth to our troops, our citizens and our allies. 3. Energy Independence -- We will create a cleaner and stronger America by reducing our dependence on foreign oil. 4. Economic Prosperity & Educational Excellence -- We will create jobs that will stay in America by restoring opportunity and driving innovation. 5. A Healthcare System that Works for Everyone -- We will join 36 other industrialized nations by making sure everyone has access to affordable health care. 6. Retirement Security -- We will ensure that a retirement with dignity is the right and expectation of every single American. |

Boilerplate Balderdash. Utterly empty words, meaningless. To go point by point: 1. The dems are as dishonest and as corrupt as the Republicans. Both parties cater to deep pocketed special interests and fob off the voters with high sounding words. Like the above. 2. You're gonna start telling the truth? Are you admitting that you have not been telling the truth until now?? 3. Yeah, right. How you gonna do that? By regulating the entire oil industry into the ground? I remember what your price controls did back in the early seventies. No, Thanks. The only real way to achieve energy independence is to raise the price of domestic oil by taxing imports. That will make the price of gas go up. Fat chance of you cowards doing that. Might cost you a vote or two. 4. Driving innovation? That sounds scary. 5. Details, please. If you have any. Which you don't. 6. Kewl. How you gonna pay for that? As a matter of fact how you gonna pay for any of this? GREAT IDEA! Let's replace those rascally borrow and spend Republicans with a whole bunch of new and improved dems who will merely - borrow and spend!

My point in posting it was that it's useless posturing. There's no substance to any of it. It's meant to sound like they have a platform when they don't. It's like saying we're in favor of motherhood and apple pie. |

Motherhood - they want us all to pay for it rather than taking responsibility for their actions (oh wait, I was channeling Local_1_crew for a sec) Apple Pie - it just bothers me. You put in apples and sugar, and it gets all gooey inside. What's that about? what happens to the apples? What is all that stuff between the apples? Where did it come from? Besides, I burned my tongue on apple pie once. Therefore it is evil. |

I'm simply opposed to having "mother" and "pie" in the same sentence. |

I give them a couple of months. By mid July there really needs to be some cohesive message from the Democrats other than "We hate Bush." If people haven't noticed, many Republicans are doing everything they can to distance themselves from him. And he is giving them every opportunity to do so. Frankly, I'm surprised the White House is letting Immigration become such a huge issue, since it is divisive not just between parties, but within them as well. The Democrats need their equivalent of the Republican Contract with America from 1994. Otherwise it's just going to be a lot more whining and excuses in November. |

How would the Dem's "protect America at home"? Without profiling and closed borders. Bringing all the troops home. I haven't heard a single word from a single Dem about the war on terrorism and it's importance. However, I do know, that they are all for giving every terrorist his constitutional rights. Vote Democrat and let the suicide bombings begin! |

Oh please. Do you really think we are not being attacked here "because we're fighting them over there?" You know that all democrats are for giving terrorist their constitutional rights? You know that? Hmm.. Let's see. If they are American citizens, then I'm curious whether you believe they do not have Constitutional rights. And if they are not citizens, I'd be curious who is saying their rights even mentioned in the Constitution. Are you suggesting that people covered by the Constitution not be afforded their rights? Just because the Dems are a mess does not mean the Republicans are they are now are any better. Can you explain the importance of the war on terrorism? under 500 words, please. |

I wonder what the Republicans' plan looks like right now. 1) cut taxes 2) invade Iran 3) see #1 I heard a very funny (in a black-humor kind of way) line about the ill-conceived $100 rebate the Republicans wanted to give us to make us forget about gas prices. The idea is, it amounts to having each of us borrow $100 from the Chinese, and send it to Saudi Arabia. |

Fannyfree says: "However, I do know, that they are all for giving every terrorist his constitutional rights. Vote Democrat and let the suicide bombings begin!" I say you know nothing of the kind, so why say it? To further cheapen the discourse?

Remember, if you vote Democrat, the terrorists win. If you vote Democrat, you're saying you want a nuclear bomb explodeed right in the middle of a boy scout jamboree while they are practicing walking old ladies across the street. If ou vote Democrat, you are in favor of letting your daughter get raped by illegal immigrants. If you vote Democrat, you want to end reproduction as we know it by forcing all women who do not successfully use birth control to have abortions. If you vote Democrat, you'll be forcing me to kill these puppies:

If you vote republican, you are voting to criminalize communion given to illegal immigrants. |
