First off, I wanna say for the record that I am not the editor of Truthout, even though the guy's name is almost exactly like mine! (Weird.) Second, I would be amazed if Rove turns against Cheney. I'd always thought that Boy Genius was one of those ideologically-driven dudes. You know, the sort that would take any risk to help PNAC achieve global domination. Why save himself to bring Cheney down, then? Perhaps he feels that he's more important to the cause than The Quail Hunter? |

Plus, getting busted for perjury and then pardoned, and then setting up a consulting/lobbying firm and becoming incredibly rich doesn't seem like a great enough danger for anyone to crap where they sleep to that extent. I think Rove's people tricked Truthout so they can laugh at the unreliable lefty media, and make whatever happens seem minor by comparison. Isn't that called "managing expectations" or something in the persuasion industry? |

Jason Leopold has taken a lot of heat for that article. |

And you should take heat from posting worthless articles and outright lies on this board. I have no problem talking philosophy and have our normal back and forth, but it is apparent you care nothing for the truth. As I've said often, hoping and wishing by you libs doesn't make anything true. And what will you say if DeLay is found not-guilty? Or Libby? |

Incorrect infromation and lies are two different things. I would think a supporter of this President would know that distinction. |

So Rastro, will you help me rake Foj over the coals like you have Bush? I am simply talking about the merit of this board. If posters begin posting outright lies then this board is starting down that slippery slope fast. Here's another example - Travis starts a thread "Bigger than Watergate". It was his opinion and he was shown to be a neophyte in political predicting and has since basically disappeared. But atleast he created it as an opinion thread. Now, if he would have said, tomorrow Libby, Rove, and Cheney will all be indicted and resign, well then we are beyond opinion. I was all set for the Rove perp walk only to find out it was only a figment of Foj's dream. |

Do you know the difference between someone who is lying and someone who has been duped and passes his misinformation around?

Southerner, the difference is that I believe Foj intends to post the truth, but gets caught up in being the first to break news here. Whereas I believe Bush did know that he was putting forth incorrect information, and continued to defend it as correct even after he was called on it. This is not the basis of my disdain for Bush, but it is a factor. And I will freely admit that my dislike for him makes me much less likely to believe he didn't know the information was inaccurate. Anyone who will not admit that their bias affects their perception is lying to themselves. |

Reingold, I get your point. I just love breaking Foj's chops. He knows I'm only kidding but he set himself up. I am not shocked only amused. The libs (Foj is definitely one) are so caught up in the "chicken little" situation that they are falling further and further. I'll lay off now, but again, I just can't believe no one else has called Foj out for bringing that crap onto this board. I can take a whole lot of whacky theories and even cut and paste jobs from obscure ideological websites, but I do get my dander up when straight out lies are promulgated. And have I missed Foj's apology to this online community? All he has to do is admit he got such an instant woodrow when he read that article with the thought of Rove in jail that the lack of blood in his brain caused him to post the drivel. |

I dont recall editorializing on the Jason Leopold article. But I do recall SLK editorializing on some Drudge postings. |

So is that the measure. If you post a total lie but don't have the guts to make a comment then you can totally distance yourself from your own post? Foj, I like you and I know I may be being a jerk about this but I would hope you'd agree that we can't let this type of stuff get out of hand otherwise this board goes the way of many other boards that become worthless. Besides, I was more amused at the circle jerk that quickly began after your post. That was priceless. I just hope the wind wasn't blowing! |

what circle jerk? There's only 15 posts on this thread, and you and SLK are responsible for 1/3 of them! |

tom, The circle jerk was Foj's thread about Rove being indicted and resigning on Monday. Review that thread of which you were a member. Here were the contestants who got instant woodies the second they read the lie and couldn't control themselves - you, Caffrey, Nancy, tulip, 3ring, notehead, and of course Foj. |

Let me unspin your spin for you. Children may be reading, and get the idea that somehow you're being honest. Here's a dissection of the thread "Rove Informs White House He Will Be Indicted," started by foj last Friday. This particular circle jerk is far, far more extensive than the mere 15 posts (now 17). There are, in fact, 20. Here's how it went down: 8:52, foj copies-and-pastes an item from truthout.org, without comment. 10:13, John Caffrey offers a brief prayer of thanks. 11:47, I make an aside. Three hours and counting. Despite the instant woodies, this is going to be one long circle jerk. 6:33 the next morning, Nancy posts without comment another truthout link. Stunned silence as everybody wonders who invited the girl to the circle jerk. 7:04, foj posts a few more links, noted as rumors. 9:24, foj posts the toast Sunday 3:26 a.m., tulip posts a Plame item unrelated to Rove. 10:40, 3ringale posts an amusingly doctored photo. 8:56 p.m., notehead is preparing to do a dance -- he's not dancing yet, just preparing. Over the next six days there follows an insane frenzy of posts. Okay, there were only six. All were along the lines of "what's happening?" and "I saw that," and "here's an overview." Just when everybody's arms are getting tired, SLK comes in with "Rove's attorney rocks!" and a smiley face. It should come as no surprise to you that a lot of us seriously dislike Rove; however you'd be hard pressed to demonstrate that any of us took this story hook, line and sinker. Unlike our counterparts on the right, most of us don't just parrot the talking points; we like to think for ourselves.

Nice spin tom but we are all laughing at you. "We like to think for ourselves." Is that why Foj can make you unzip with a simple cut and paste? I love it! And if you don't know why a girl was invited then you truly are an odd character. |
