An Iraqi war vet who lost his arms during the war is suing the lying liberal film maker. Not a surprise. I still get a chuckle thinking about how the libs lined up behind this clown.

libs.

This is bad news only for Michael Moore.

Are you criticizing Moore's message or the way he presents it?

... didn't this docu-movie come out two years ago? Waiting any longer and he would have lost on satute of limitations.

(bad joke.... I'd say he was going for the deep pockets, but don't know if that applies in this case.)

You have a problem with the guy trying to settle out of court, without litigation, before suing?
Moore's message is his opinion, with an injured GI's supposed endorsement, and the GI says BS to that.
I have a problem with Moore's manipulation.
Do you?

I'm not as bothered by Moore's general nonsense since his films are always fiction anyway. What bothers me is in this case he used a man who was at his weakest point. Instead of asking that man how he felt, he told his audience how that man felt.

Moore sitting next to Jimmy Carter at the DNC like two long lost pals. That's something any ex-President should be ashamed of.

Again, the way the Liberals lined up for Moore and bought his story hook, line and sinker. Every liberal should hang his head in shame over Michael Moore.

More Moore means more Republicans. I hope Moore, Carter, and Schrum all have big roles in 2008.

Straw, you haven't really watched the scene, have you? Or, for that matter, did you read the article, instead of just the headline? I ask only because your posts don't seem to indicate that you have.

Nohero's above post was an example of someone with nothing to say. Since Nohero is a leading Michael Moore follower I can see why this issue has him confused.

Or, it could be that some of us are just interested in the facts.

I take it, from your comment, that you've neither watched the scene or actually read the article.

My answers to your questions are no and yes.

My question to strawberry may have belied my opinions, stated above. My underlying question is whether the opinion or its presentation is more important.

Straw,

Remember, anyone can sue anyone about anything. It doesn't mean the claim has merit. For instance, a claim with merit would be liberals suing conservatives for trying to pass themselves off as having a brain.

A claim without merit would be "Mission Accomplished."

John-

So is it about the merits of this or any lawsuit or are you trying to prove how smart you think you are?

I am betting on the latter.

Michael Moore used a clip from that interview in "Fahrenheit 9/11." It shows Damon lying on a gurney, saying he feels like he’s being "crushed in a vice

As if the republicans never quoted anyone out of context. Unfortunately for Mr. Damon, he will lose the case. He spoke on a news broadcast thereby losing or forfeiting any expected right to privacy. Litigation will go on and on and on and in the end be settled out of court. After each side has billed thousands of hours and each made a bundle of money off the case. Then they'll play golf and around the 16th hole the lawyers will decide on a settlement that could have been done months earlier.

Even happens in the Church

Quote:

Although the suit focuses on Shanley, Boston attorney Roderick MacLeish is seeking to show that archdiocesan officials put children and youngsters in harm's way by failing to properly respond to sexual abuse allegations made against priests in their charge.

Questioned by MacLeish, the attorney for the alleged victims, McCormack acknowledged that he had accepted Shanley's explanation in 1985 that he had been quoted out of context in a speech Shanley had made stating that when adults have sex with minors, children are often the seducers.

(emphasis mine).

I think that Damon has every right to be angry that his clip was used in Farenheit 9/11. But suing for 85 million dollars is only going to make lawyers rich.

That's a poor excuse. Either Moore did it or he didn't. Whether someone else did it, even in a worse way, doesn't make it OK for Moore.

Tom you are right. I, apparently, wrongly inferred that a republican would never do such a thing. What led me to this wrongful way of thinking was this part...

Michael Moore and Jimmy Carter. Now there is a dangerous duo. And together with liberals, will surely bring chaos and anarchy into this world...

Duncan, in my view, Republicans pull nonsense like this in a bigger way, and as such, I think they are worse than Democrats. But I will never make my point with faulty logic such as "you do it, too, so get off our case." Remember, I'm on your side. I'm trying to keep you honest, for our mutual cause.
