The Ledger reports that Bookeer sued to stop the city council from selling city land to cronies at below market price. Recall, also the fiasco when Sharpe James was stopped from using tax money to set up a slush fund with him as the administrator.

And who can forget the misuse of funds caused by the Newark Arena?

Now, isn't the Department of Community Affairs supposed to monitor spending by municipalities? If so, where are they? At lease Corzine called them on the slush fund.

Good for Booker. I've got high hopes for that guy, but man he's really got a lot of work cut out for him.
