It was just announced the US is making a major concession to Iran in exchange for their stopping enriching uranium the U.S. will give give Iran nuclear technology to develop power plants..............its hard to believe Iran needs nuclear power plants given its oil reserves. Do you all think this is a wise move on the part of the US? |

1) it lets us control what technology is used 2) it lets Iran choose clean energy, joining other modern nations in doing so 3) it prevents war |

cjc -- glad I'm not the only cynic -- just suspect Iran will use our peaceful technology lessons for "other" pursuits in addition to their clean energy goal. |

This might not be a bad idea. 1-It would help with our trade deficit, assuming that there are any American owned companies that build reactors. I think that Westinghouse is British owned. 2-It would create jobs for Americans. 3-It would give American technicians access to Iranian nuclear facilities. And last, but not least it would be an extension of the Bush administration's policy towards China. VP Cheney went there 2 years ago to pitch American reactor technology. I believe this was after China threatened to vaporize Los Angeles if we interfered with her long-term plans for Taiwan. How's that for standing tall? So let's send Cheney to Teheran. Who knows? Maybe he can arrange a hunting party with President Ahmadinejad! Cheers |

Iran is not North Korea. North Korea, by any measure, is a very strange animal. Iran on the other hand, is exposed to the real world. So, I wouldn't automatically assume that policies that failed with North Korea would automatically fail with Iran. |

You libs can do whatever you want if you ever win and election. I seriously doubt we will see that in a while. Does anyone else have that feeling that the Dems shot their load in 2005? For such a supposed intelligent minority party I have seen nothing this year that scares me into thinking the Dems will take back any part of Congress. Even Stewart laughed at Dean about his door knob campaign. I watched and couldn't believe Dean was serious. If the Dems can't take back both branches with all the fodder (Iraq, gas, scandals) then they are done at a legitimate political force. So far, all they can point to is low poll numbers against Bush and he isn't running this year. Oh, how I will enjoy the fall political season. Dean, coming to a door knob near you! |

What does this thread have to do with Democrats, elections, or Howard Dean? I really think you've gone off the deep end. |

Southerner's code is bad. At least on its face, this is a good idea. |
