Over the past seven days, I have posted my position paper under the heading, "Should I run for town council.."

I broke my heart keyboarding my plans to make Maplewood a profit making entity, reduce, if not even eliminate municipal taxes, downsize the government, make the town safe from illegal immigrants, shift responsibility for services to other municipalities and reduce the tax burden for rich people at the expense of the poor. All are true Republican values.

I expected to receive loads of support in response to my posts. Instead, all I got was whinging from lieberals. I got one post of support but I don't think the poster understood what I was proposing.

Now there are several possible reasons that you guys, Southerner, Straw, Libertarian didn't respond. Possibly you didn't want to hurt Jamie's feelings.

Or maybe you didn't read it. After all, it is pretty long.

Most likely, you were in such awe of the beauty, simplicity, power and thoroughness of my plan that you have been stunned into silence. After all, my platform was so thorough that I even thought to leave a small section of public park land where you can put a statue of me after we divest the town of most of its recreation land.

Anyway, now is the time to get behind me. Lets win this one for the old gipper.

"make the town safe from illegal immigrants"

Yes, as soon as my roof is finished. And my driveway gets repaved.

I'm behind you John. unless you need me alongside of you, it's your call. I'm in favor of running all municipalities like businesses, so I think you're on to something. Just one question: if you're going to run Maplewood like a business, have you thought about using Six Sigma quality improvement prinicples? I think it's a no-brainer.

I am not familiar with Six Sigma. Please give me a heads up on it.

John,

When you learn to spell in accordance with the King's English I'll start to take you seriously.

Until then - it's KEN and KATHY all the way!!!

Yes, I am going to chair KEN and KATHY's online campaign!!!

Nancy and Lester are so dead to me.

Losers.

If I never see a slice of pie again it will be too soon.

KEN and KATHY are my new project, but I have a waiting room full of whiners, so I'll pick up the campaign in a few months,

Remember: KEN and KATHY (K&K) the best!!!

Six Sigma is a quality process for businesses. So if we're going to run the town like a business, we should engineer out all the defects.

Re: your concern on Immigration, I fail to see the connection between YOUR liberty being enhanced by restricting another persons liberty. Care to explain that Hypocrisy?

S J. Thanks for the feedback. Liberty and security are always in conflict. Maybe if you look at the big picture I can help you figure it out better.

Ya see, we were attacked on 9/11. (It was in all the papers and on Fox news. Rush even mentions it.) Anyway, in order to stop that from happening again, Dick and Donald and Wolfie and Condi have decided that we need to give up some liberties. Not all of them, just the 4th, 5th. and 6th. Amendments.

We still get to keep the 2nd Amendment. We get to keep the first Amendment as long as we don't jeopardize the war effort by criticizing the Decider-in-Chief or his war because then you are a traitor.

Now if you can get the of giving up some liberty to achieve security when it applies to the war on terror, why can't you figure it out when it applies to immigrants? Besides, I am not asking you to give up your liberty its their liberty. So what don't you get?

GOP Man-

One of our vendors just conducted a "Six Sigma assessment" of any issues we were having with them. The assessment had everything; pages and pages of bars/graphs/statistics, blah blah blah...

Let's just say when my boss and I left the 1 1/2 meeting we threw the "results" in the trash....

I know what you mean, statistics and so on are a waste of time. I prefer Six Sigma when it's based on less rigorous measures.

My bad...I thought you were stating serious positions. I didn't pick up the sarcasm until re-reading.

Read the entire post on Should I run against Jamie. I had a great deal of fun writing it. On the serious purpose, when I was teaching, I would present the extremes of positions and ask students to respond.

I did this with liberal and conservative students and it was useful to clarify their thoughts.

I really enjoyed the "Should I run against Jamie" thread. It was well written and very funny. Keep it up John!
