I can't believe politicians let Colbert in the door any more... unless they've been living in a cave. I love the way the congressman tries to remember the commandments... "uh... don' lah... don' still... uh... ah cayn't membermall..."

Which is more embarrassing, the congressman himself or the fact that people actually elected him?

notehead, it's heavily edited. I wonder if Colbert was even in the room with Westmoreland. Surely, the laugh track wasn't.

Still, it's funny.

Tom, that's not a laugh track. That's the live studio audience. And it's quite obvious that they are in the same room together. They include Westmoreland in the over-the-shoulder shots.

That was fake..... right ?.... was my first thought. That dufus must hold one of the 40 or so vulnerable House seats we hear about....... Wouldn't you say so Southerner?

Thanks Tom R.

It's funny, but does a member of Congress who sponsors such a bill really not know the Ten Commandments?

Hell, *I*, a pinko gay Unitarian, know them better'n he does. They all start with Thou shalt not, for starters.

Actually, only some start that way. Some are commandments to do things, and others are commandments to NOT do things.

e.g.
Honor you mother and father
Keep the sabbath

But it was quite amusing that someone who was pushing for the commandments to be put in public buildings didn't know more than three or so.

AND he couldn't think of any better buiding than a public building to put them in! Colbert all but held up cue-cards with "church" and "temple," but he couldn't come up with them.

What do guys like this think about all day long, if anything?

The truly sad part in all of this: Jerk-off republicans like him don't even know they're being made fun of.
