An interesting observation from opinionjournal.com

"[T]oday Senate Democrats showed that they were, in fact, split in three. First, by 86-13, the Senate rejected John Kerry's* cut-and-run proposal, which called on the U.S. to flee Iraq a year from next Saturday. Then, by 60-39, they voted down Carl Levin and Jack Reed's resolution, which, in Reuters' description, calls on the president "to start withdrawing troops this year but without setting a deadline for completion."

That means that the 44 Democrats voting (counting Vermont's nominal independent, Jim Jeffords, and excluding West Virginia's Jay Rockefeller, who was absent) break down roughly into three groups:

13 who would cut and run (i.e., they voted for the Kerry resolution).

6 who would stay the course (voted against both resolutions).

25 who would back away (against Kerry but for Levin-Reed)--26 including Rhode Island Republican Lincoln Chafee."

So, you're saying that there's a debate about whether to -
- Get out by this time next year, or

- At least start getting out, or

- Have no clue as to when we'll get out
Well, at least somebody is having a debate. It beats blind faith in the Administration.
