Back in the sixties and seventies, with Viet Nam, Kissinger, Nixon and Watergate, we used to wonder what would happen if by some horrible chance, we ende up with an absolutely inept, stupid or worse, evil President. Was the Presidency of the US so important to the world that a bad one could bring on Armageddon?? Here's our answer. Yes. We are on the brink, and it may be too late to reverse. SANE Nuclear Policy was right. (It stood for Stop All Nuclear Escalation, and members were treated as if they were communists.) We are going to blow ourselves up, because we can, and because no one has the gravitas, trust or significance in the world to stop the fight.
