Who says we should:

1. Attack Syria

2. Attack Iran

3. both

It seems to be a the next step to some folks; apparently James Woolsey thinks we should attack Syria, and Krystal implies we should attack Iran. Is that the neo-con line? How close do MOLers hew to it?

this info might be lodged in the fastness of that other post, so I apologize for not digging it out.

Prior to Iraq, my answer would be:

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes-terday

Now, however, after witnessing what it means to 'provide security' while a nation transitions, I have changed my mind.

We don't have the resources to do either right now. I would be delighted to see Syria overthrown, but despite the fact that it's a smaller hornets' nest than Iraq, it's populated by a much nastier species of hornet.

If we invaded Iran, we could probably look forward to thirty years of war.

Oh my god...you people are sick.

Why doesn't America worry about Americans. Why would we attack anybody? We have started two wars in the last five years. We are winning neither and neither of these countries have attacked us in the first place. A group attacked us that we are at fault for creating. Israel is more then capable to handle itself and even though we are supposed to help our friend our friend has not always cooperated with our requests (like compliance to peace treaties) or had both of our best interests in mind.

Why don't we attack problems like poverty in our country, uninsured children, horrendous education, senior citizens who cannot affored their medication, environmental issues, alternatives to fossile fuel, disaster management instead of other nations.

Bajou is absolutely right. But I would still support invading Italy to acquire some fine wine and gelato. In fact, Pippi and I hereby volunteer to invade Italy by ourselves.

Bajou,
What are you talking about? Those problems were eradicated long ago. Remember those 40plus years of a Democratically controlled Congress. Those guys knew how to tackle a problem and solve it. If only the Executively controlled military were as efficient as all those liberal programs that saved this country.

If Republicans were as efficient as they claim to be, I'd be one. Have a gander at the Dept of Homeland Security. That agency has become a corrupt, bureaucratic money-pit in record time.

Might need to put some boots on the ground in Somalia again.
