That used to be a favorite conservative whine - "no one is reporting the good news"; like it was just over there lying around waiting to be dusted off and shipped back to America. Why have conservatives dropped that line? And I always wondered why they didn't just go do it themselves, if indeed they believe in eliminating inefficiency in the information marketplace. It's kind of like the guy who sells picks and shovels declaring "there's gold in them there hills!" but not going up to the mountain himself. |

Let me look under my desk for the "good news". Uhhh, I got one: "Iranian troops have not yet crossed the border into Iraq." |

We are getting our revenge for 9/11. This sends a powerful message to all terrorists and evil do-ers for all the world to see. No WMD's can threaten us. We will not tolerate brutal dictators. Democracy will reign supreme over all evil. |

I'm aware of at least one bit of good news out of Iraq: In the old days, under Saddam, death squads executed innocent Iraqis and then buried the victims in mass graves. now when death squads arbitrarily execute Iraqis, they usually dump the bodies at the morgue. That is progress. |
