I am thankful that the British know that fighting terrorism is more like a Sherlock Holmes mystery and less like a Clint Eastwood movie. |

Actually as I recall it, Blair and Bush are on the same page when it comes to defeating terrorism. As a result, it's a bad comparison. You need both to succeed. |

Well, eventually, news of the plot would have surfaced in Popular Mechanics. |

Not enough to comment on yet. The news reports are very thin on detail. |

Maybe in the meantime Strawberry can explain why liberals would want to die in an explosion over the ocean. |

I can't respond because I'm still trying to determine how the war in Iraq figured into foiling this plot. I mean it must have, otherwise, how would it be "bad news for libs?" |

Appears to be very similar to the foiled 2000 plot. |

I wonder if they were plotting to do it on 8/11? That might have been the "new information" the British had that made them sweep in today. They've hit on 9/11, 7/11, 3/11. |

Dave, I've been wondering the same thing for years. Why do libs constantly attempt to weaken America and endanger Americans.. It's a great question. Frankly, I guess it's the ole "That won't happen to me" belief. |

Strawberry is so predictable it is boring. In his world this is somehow proof that unleashing violence against the muslim world will solve our problems, and not create more hate and terrorism. It must be stimulating for him redirect everything towards hatered of his neighbors. He has taken the bait just as Osama would like it. His only problem is that only a handful of extremists on this board agree with him. I suppose it must be some kind of therapy for a very repressed soul. Hope his obsessive behavior on MOL makes him feel like he counts for somehting. So sad, so pathetic. And he keeps on coming back for more! |

On a parallel thread it was asked, How Did The Iraq War Contribute To Breaking Up This Plot? Will we be wondering about that for years, too? Or can you tell us now. Because heaven forbid it was a law-enforcement effort. Quote:Bush-Cheney campaign officials were quick to react, with Republican Party Chairman Ed Gillespie telling CBS's "Face the Nation": "Terrorism is not a law enforcement matter, as John Kerry repeatedly says.

They are NOT on the same page. The only difference, the British were able to FOIL the plot. Our brainless Prez chose to IGNORE the warnings, thus we had 3 planes fly into 3 buildings killing thousands. And another plane sent crashing to the ground. tjohn, love the comparison! |

I wonder if anyone has retrieved Bush from deep in the Texas brush (perhaps on the golf course?) to notify him of this recent development. ...now watch this drive... |
