GRAND TIME

From Sunday’s New York Times: “In coming weeks, the Internal Revenue Service plans to start siccing private debt collectors on people with up to $25,000 in unpaid income taxes – and laying off nearly half of the auditors who examine estate tax returns of the wealthiest taxpayers.”

"the 600$ toilet seat of tax collecting"

Basically if they hired more government employees to do this job they could get $31 dollars for every dollar it cost in expenses. Hiring private companies to do this returns us just $3 for every dollar.

but smaller government is better right?
