Running neck-and-neck in a close election against Rick Santorum for "Stupidest Senator," Conrad Burns raised the bar a little lower when he sent a letter to the Governor of Montana this week imploring him that "Entire ranches have been consumed and homes have been lost ... Based on these conditions, I am requesting that you declare a State of Emergency." Problem is, the Governor already had, several weeks ago. He mobilized the National Guard, too. Burns' spokesperson James Pendleton threw in his hat for the Most Obvious Statement By A Flack Award with, "“It’s just a cover-the-bases letter and certainly casts no aspersions on the governor.” I should say it doesn't. |

In other news:
Quote:Burns talked about the war on terrorism, saying a "faceless enemy" of terrorists "drive taxi cabs in the daytime and kill at night."

Clearly, we should kill all taxi drivers. It's not much, but it's a start. |

It still doesn't explain where they all go when it starts to rain. |
