on the top of the political board and who is determining who hates and how much on MOL? I have an "X" in the orange implying I am a really hateful individual. I beg to differ with this determination and want to know what is this based on? When has MOL been in the business of judging how "hateful" someone is and what is the point/goal behind this system? Better yet, how long has it even been there because this is the first time I have ever noticed it. Maybe I am reading this all wrong but don't see how I am....anyone have any input? Thanks. -SLK

It's amazing that the Ross's have come up with an A.I. program that knows who you are, analyzes your posts and maps them to a "terror" scale. What a feat of software engineering! I tried it with a browser I've never used on MOL before, so there were no cookies or logons set, and I came up with the same "orange" rating that I did on my usual browser! The same as S.L.K.s! (either that, or it's just the same .jpg file for everybody) |

the Ross's are clairvoyant. My index is in the green. I think its tied to everyones username. just kidding SLK the hate index is a commentary on the incredible intolerance that has been displayed over and over again in commenting about terrorism. When the rhetoric becomes realistic and people take their comments away from painting a billion people with the same brush I am sure the index will be taken down. |

Unless Dave is also going to be running for office. Then with him and Jamie both running I could see how it can easily get to red. (To divert us from the real issues, ya know.....) |

The new banner doesn't work with Mozzila. It does, at least on my 'puter, work with IE, AOL and FireFox. My color is green btw. Remarkable technology on the part of the Ross Brothers, although they may have subbed this out to Sebonis Software, Inc. |

Mine's in the orange and I hardly go near the soapbox, especially the political one. I guess it's all those posts about New Jersey Drivers (and the NJ driver manual, perhaps) that did me in (?) |

I had to hit "Refresh" to get the new picture at the topic of the "All Politics" thread list. I think it's Dave's version of the Homeland Security advisory system. We collectively appear to be at "orange", which I guess would be a high risk of hate. Maybe it's a reminder that we should make sure that we don't hit "severe".

Thanks Project 37 for the link. All I saw was a band of colors with an 'X' in the orange. No names, no explanations. Guess I'm orange then? Looks like most of us are. |

extraced from Ollie North, with relevance to us all. And, expecting to draw out the inner flower in the tulip: In 1974, "we the people" elected a majority in the U.S. Congress who decided that the Vietnam War was un-winnable. The Congress proceeded to "de-fund" U.S. military and logistics support for the South Vietnamese. By April of '75 the disaster was foregone. This time the outcome -- a nuclear-armed Iran with client-states in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon -- would be catastrophic. Will we elect an anti-war, "get-out-now" Congress in November? It all depends on whether those who cast ballots this autumn are wise enough to understand what we are up against or are instead, as my friend put it, "stunningly naive." http://off-topic.internet-haganah.com/archives/000553.html |

Joel: The "information" in the link is not verified. As with all recent "intelligence" or most of it, anyway relating to the Middle East, it's all at the hypothetical, or subjective level. Did you realize that at the outset of Bush's military "initative" in Iraq, there were exactly NINE Arabic speaking FBI agents in the entire FBI? I wonder how many there were in the CIA. Just because Ollie North has found an Arabic speaking person to interview, doesn't mean this person can be trusted with his statements. |
