John Kerry may have lost Wisconsin last Wednesday. Suffice to say that the overwhelming majority of American males over the age of 4 can finish the description of the field made famous by the thunderous voice of ESPN's Chris Berman: "The Frooooooooooozen Tunnnnnnnnnnnndra of...... Lambert Field? Well, that's what John Kerry called it during a campaign stop last week in Green Bay. Lambert Field. Can anyone say Nuclear? What a cheesey thing to mis-pronounce. I wonder if Kerry can say Bret Favre?

Senator Kerry should use the President Bush excuse, as follows: "I know it sounded as if I said 'Lambert Field'. But, what I really said was, 'We can win the war on terror.'"

Another example of just how in sync Kerry is with main stream America.

Hmmm. If I were a Bush supporter I don't think I would make fun of John Kerry for slipping up on the pronunciation of people, places or things.

" I'm a bit over 4. My husband is a football fanatic. We have the NFL ticket. I didn't know the correct name of the field until I asked him after seeing this post. Nuclear, on the other hand, I can pronounce. I pronounce Brett Fav-ra just like Ben Stiller. |

Well, that's what John Kerry called it during a campaign stop last week in Green Bay. Lambert Field. Forget terrorism, forget the economy, forget health care. Face, I believe you have found THE issue for Campaign 2004. I never thought anything would be more important than what kind of cheese a candidate likes on a sandwich, but you've opened my eyes. Four more years (of correct stadium pronounciation)! |

proper pronunciation of fields is possibly too complex a campaign issue for most voters in this country to get a handle on. |

Yes I have. I married a cheese head. We visit at least once a year, actually planning our next trip right now. Until last year we had season tickets for UW football games, we will be hoisting up our UW flag when the season begins. This state is voting for President Bush.

Not knowing what Lambeau Field in Wisconsin is like ordering swiss cheese on a Philly cheesesteak in Philly. As Bugs said -- what a Maroon. |

Yes, I know you've been there. My point was to see how you can make the statement that's it's all over Wisconsin if you haven't been there since his mispronunciation of Lambeau. My little diversion is a microcosm of the utter ridiculousness of the diversion of talking about trivial matters like Kerry not knowing what cheese goes on Philly cheese steaks (the notion of Cheesewiz as one of the options is horrifying as a cheesehead by marriage you should understand) or how to pronounce Lambeau. They're are important issues to talk about but the scary thing is many people make their voting decisions based on these non-issues. Give it break indeed. |

Isn't Lambeau French? Or is it Lambeux? In either case had the field itself been in France, I'll bet Kerry would have pronounced it correctly. He should campaign in France, he already has 82% of the German vote.

Ok since you guys are having so much fun with this...it was only a matter of time..(this is wayyyy to easy) All of the following were spoken by our President "Republicans understand the importance of bondage between mother and child." "I believe we are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy, but that could change." "If affirmative action means what I just described, what I'm for, then I'm for it." "A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls." "It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it." "We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur." So Sen. Kerry mispronounced a football stadium's name. I would be fine if he called it "The House that Boothe Built" if he knew what he was talking about when it mattered. |

Trying to tie it to Bush doesn't work because Bush doesn't try to position himself as an effete, elitest snob who is so intellectually superior that he doesn't know when to come out of the rain because he's too busy weighing the post-modern ramifications of untaxed moisture soaking his sorry rear end without the intellectual caveat of what the UN may or may not think about that atmospheric experience as relates to the new crisis of worldwide obesity. |

Joe...You're right there are important issues, such as: Kerry's limited impact during his 19 years in the senate. Kerry's voting record during his 19 years in the senate. The number of votes and meetings that Kerry has missed during his 19 years in the senate, not just during the campaign. The fact that Kerry has never managed or governed. The fact that Kerry has never had to create, allocate or manage a budget. Based on his resume I would bet that the would not be able to get an executive level position at a Fortune 500 company. If he did I would not want to work there. Kerry's ability to manage the his own campaign is an example that shows that he is not qualified to lead our nation. He had a bid lead in the polls, many people are not happy with Bush and Kerry managed to blow it. I am a member of the GOP, I voted for Bush, but came into this with an open mind and nothing I have seen from Kerry or his supporters is enough to pull me from Bush.

Not true. He ran a prosecutor's office. That would at least be on par with being a CEO of a failed oil exploration company.

Here is Kerry's Resume...make your own decision: John Kerry's Resume NAME: John Kerry RESIDENCE: 7 mansions, including Washington DC, worth multi-millions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Law Enforcement. I voted to cut every law enforcement, CIA and defense bill in my career as a US Senator. I ordered Boston to remove a fire hydrant in front of my mansion, thereby endangering my neighbors in the event of fire. MILITARY: I used three minor injuries to get an early discharge from the military and service in Vietnam (as documented by the attending doctor). I then returned to the US, joined Jane Fonda in protesting the war, and insulted returning Vietnam vets, claiming they committed atrocities and were baby killers. I threw my medals, ribbons, or something away in protest. Or did I? My book; Vietnam Veterans Against the War: The New Soldier shows how I truly feel about the military. COLLEGE: I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. Unlike my counterpart George Bush, I have no higher education and did not get admitted to Harvard nor graduate with an M.B.A PAST WORK EXPERIENCE: I ran for U.S. Congress and have been there ever since. I have no real world experience except marrying rich women and running HJ Heinz vicariously through my wife Teresa. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: As a US Senator I set the record for the most liberal voting record, exceeding even Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton. I have consistently failed to support our military and CIA by voting against budgets, thus gutting our country's ability to defend itself. Although I voted for the Iraq War, now I am against it and refuse to admit that I voted for it. I voted for every liberal piece of legislation. I have no plan to help this country but I intend to raise taxes significantly if I am elected. My wealth so far exceeds that of my counterpart, George Bush, that he will never catch up. I make no or little charitable contributions and have never agreed to pay any voluntary excess taxes in MA, despite family wealth in excess of $ 700 million. I (we) own 28 manufacturing plants (Heinz) outside of the U.S. in places like Asia, Mexico and Europe. We can make more profit from the cheaper cost of labor in those Countries, although I blame George Bush for sending all of the jobs out of Country. Although I claim to be in favor of alternative energy sources, Ted Kennedy and I oppose windmills off Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard as it might spoil our view of the ocean as we cruise on our yachts. RECORDS AND REFERENCES: None. PERSONAL: I ride a Serotta Bike. My Gulfstream V Jet I call The Flying Squirrel. I call my $850,000 42-foot Hinckley twin diesel yacht the "Scaramouche". I am fascinated by rap and hip-hop and feel it reflects our real culture. I own several "Large" SUVs including one parked at my Nantucket summer mansion, though I am against large polluting inefficient vehicles and blame George Bush for the energy problems. PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN 2004. |
