Today: "You got to be able to speak clearly in order to make this world a more peaceful place," Bush said.

I guess grammar, intelligence and truth are all overrated.

hahahahaha!

I probably have used improper grammar fewer times in my entire life than Shrub has in the past 4 years. He's an embarassment. Or...to say it like his voter base....he ain't got too many brains.

He's right, MHD. I mean, it's in bold type, so it must be true.

PRESIDENT George W. Bush

For some strange reason this makes me think of the old Saturday Night Live bit, where Garret Morris played Idi Amin and held up a model of a brain and said, "This is a normal brain", he then picked up a piece of swiss cheese and said, "This is my brain".

Of course there is something we can do to change that. And we will.

Bush emphasizing the importance of speaking clearly is kind of like the head of a tobacco company saying that the health of their customers is their top priority.

Don't worry, folks. Help is on the way.

"[I]t's the Afghan national army that went into Najaf and did the work there."—Referring to Iraqi troops during a joint press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, Washington, D.C., Sept. 23, 2004 (Thanks to Garry Trudeau.)

The latest example of clueless George:

“That's why I said to the Taliban in Afghanistan: Get rid of al Qaeda; see, you're harboring al Qaeda. Remember this is a place where they trained -- al Qaeda trained thousands of people in Afghanistan. And the Taliban, I guess, just didn't believe me. And as a result of the United States military, Taliban no longer is in existence.” [Bush, 9/27/04]

Out of touch with reality...just like Bush Sr.

Wow.

If the President uses the "Taliban no longer in existence" line, do you think the press would point it out, just like the Gerry Ford "Poland is not under Soviet domination" gaffe from the '76 debates?

Of course not. The press is asleep at the wheel. I wouldn't be surprised if the analysts watch each others' shows to decide who "won" the debate. And why do anyalsts ever try to determine that? If I actually watched, and think one candidate won, I don't need some analyst to tell me. And if I didn't watch the debate, and I'm influenced by some talking head who tries to tell me who won, I'm an idiot.
