I think the Kerry supporters are spending too much time showing their hatred of Bush on MOL and not getting out the Democratic base to support their candidate here in NJ. You Kerry supporters are so angry.... please keep it up! It may be time for a Tupperware Party to raise finds for Moveon. The shocker in the last week was New Jersey, where three polls showed Bush pulling even with Kerry. The state, never on the battleground list, has voted Democratic since 1988 and comes with a sizable chunk of electoral votes, 15. Bush's strength there was a source of concern to Democrats. http://www.iht.com/articles/541107.html |

New Jersey should go to Bush because most here in the state have jobs, require lower taxes and require security, especially those who commute to NYC and Newark. Frankly, I can't see any situation where Kerry takes the state. A kerry administration would cost the state jobs, taxes would be raised and security would be weakened. |

George, if you require lower taxes AND require security, how do you pay for the security? Do you raise taxes for corporations? No? Rich people? No? Oh, that's right, you send the country into complete debt. |

Not to blow my own horn, but I called NJ a battleground back in March /discus/messages/26018/28968.html Ed May predicted a Bush win... Everyone thought we were nuts. NJ is a statistical tie in almost every poll now, and some polls show Bush ahead.

Not to blow MY own horn, but when W stole the presidency, I predicted that he was gonna do an absolutely horrible job. Then again, I was hardly the only one who felt that way. |

Yes, but you were wrong, where I was right. And while you weren't the only one to feel that way, many, especially in NJ seem to have changed their minds. Its just eating you up inside, isn't it? You should try to stop feeling so bad about Kerry losing, and focus your efforts on making up new excuses or reasons that GWB doesn't have a mandate. You'll need them on November 3rd. |

Even if Bush loses NJ, the fact that many who hate Bush so much have to worry about it makes me feel good. "...W stole the presidency..."

How about Ohio? No Republican in the last forty or so years has won the White House without carrying that state. I think the McGreevey mess has a lot to do with the current polls in NJ. |

Bush has a big lead in Ohio (double digits in most polls I think). |

Not all polls, but Ohio is locked up for Bush. Look at the internals. Ohio is not in play. |

Michigan in the toss-up category. Detroit Free Press poll (?) has Kerry up in registered voters, but Bush up 50-48 among likely voters.

Too bad that most of the 200,000 new dem voters are all dead people. Ohio is not in play, NJ is. Gore took NJ by 18 points and now NJ is a statistical tie. You really think that no Gore voters switched to Bush, even after 9/11? Wake up. |

Bush will take our state because people understand that a vote for Kerry is a vote for terrorists. And if you don't work in the city, you know somebody that does. Oh, and I love the "stole the election" rant wherever I see it. Do you still believe in Santa Clause too? |

"A vote for Kerry is a vote for terrorists"? I doubt you'll see that in an ad with the phrase, "I'm George W. Bush, and I approve this message." That's why that particular "meme" has to be spread as a "talking point". |
