Check out the item on Fox News. Very odd, though I didn't see the article in question.

"Earlier Friday, FOXNews.com posted an item purporting to contain quotations from Kerry. The item was based on a reporter's partial script that had been written in jest and should not have been posted or broadcast. We regret the error, which occurred because of fatigue and bad judgment, not malice."

Ok, imagine if the shoe were on the other foot, and it were on NYTimes.com, and it were anti-Bush. How would conservatives react?

about as much as they did with Rather and his lies (i.e. he is still working). We may complain, but the liberal media elite dont care as long as they get their man in office.

Fox is junk media, so we don't hold it to the same standard.

I didn't think it was true, for example, that Dick Cheney's daughter was kidnapped by space aliens, or that Ronald Reagan's brain was being kept in cryogenic storage at a U.S. base in Antarctica.

who is We, monty? The same crew that supposedly holds Rather to "higher" standards. excellent standars, right up there with National Enquirer (except the Enquirer has better ratings).

Who would even bother to call for the resignation of a Fox News "journalist"? It would be like complaining about the nutritional value of twinkies.

Rather's 60 Minute Biased Article on Network PrimeTime TV that CBS and Rather refused to even admit might be based on fake documents for over a week equates to a Web Site posting for less than one day on the www.foxnews.com site (which, according to Monty, is worthless)?

Fox pulled the news story and admitted as such and reprimanded the journalist. Dan Rather is still bouncing around looking for more lies to fill his news stories with.

Insite, with your cute little barb, you have irrefutably displayed your complete lack of originality. "go back to Donuts"? come on. Are you really stuck in 5th grade. Wait...nevermind everyone of your posts answers that question.
Dan Rathar apologized, but as opposed to being a "journalist" he is the anchor of the national news program. So, while his stakes are higher, he also has a myriad of people below him who should have vetted the docs better. Those are the ones who should be 'reprimanded'.

Perhaps you need a better prescription in those lenses cause everything you see seems to be some huge consipiracy. Whats it like to live in a bubble of absolute fear like that?

Insite, the wrongdoing of one news network does not rationalize the wrongdoing of another.

No conspiracy, just fact. Rather lied, ignored the claims that opposed his view, and finally caved under extreme pressure.

i guess the donut comment was around way back in the 5th, correct? Childhood memories are the worst ....

Insite, by your logic (and I use that word soooo loosely) then your post "Rather lied, ignored the claims that opposed his view, and finally caved under extreme pressure." Based on that it sounds like you should be cheering Rather on, since thats exactly what your hero does, on a daily basis. Lie, or if thats too harsh for your porous intellect, misunderstand intelligence, ignore the claims that opposed his view, and finally GO TO WAR....

Nice try. Come back when you have balanced out the lithium

FoxNews forced to admit to running false stories

FoxNews bared its right-wing bias in two blunders this weekend, adding to the argument that the media outlet is a Republican attack dog aginst Democratic candidates.

#1. On Friday the cable news channel's chief campaign correspondent Carl Cameron wrote a BOGUS news article that was posted on Fox's Web site that quoted Sen. John Kerry bragging that he was "metrosexual."

The FAKE article quoted Kerry as saying, "Women should like me! I do maincures."

Fox news said Cameron's MOCK article "occurred because of fatigue and bad judgment" and that he will be reprimanded.

Since Dan Rathers was duped last month by false documents, Fox commentators have been leading the charge for his ouster. Cameron's job, however, appears to be safe.

#2. In another online gaffe Fox's network political reporter Jane Roh filed a report about a parody group called "Communist for Kerry." It ran as a news story and failed to mention that the group was actually pro-Bush.
Later, Roh claimed that she was FOOLED by "Communists for Kerry."

So much for the "fair and balanced" slogan. Between FoxNews and their New York Post newspaper (whom 39% of New Yorkers find credible), is just
