Fellow MOL-ers

1) Today I visited the Bush-Cheney Victory Headquarters in Somerset County and secured a large supply of Bush-Cheney lawn signs. Private line me your name and address and I will deliver a sign to your lawn in South Orange or Maplewood.

2) The Bush-Cheney campaign in NJ needs volunteers over the next 32 days. If you will help locally or at events or at the Victory HQ, let me know and I will put you in touch.

3) There is a Bush-Cheney Rally featuring Rudy Guilliani tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, October 2, 2004) in Ramsey. If you get to Bergen County Republican Headquarters first thing in the morning, you might be able to secure yourself a ticket or two, as I did today.

4) Keep alert for other visits from high profile Bush-Cheney people over the next 32 days. We recently had a visit from Laura Bush. Dick Cheney might be here in a week or two. Many of us have been asking the Bush-Cheney campaign and the NJGOP to send President George W. Bush here in person. Personally, I think that will happen before the campaign is over.

5) I believe that Bush will win New Jersey and that winning NJ will be a key to retaining the White House for 4 more years.

6) If you are a Democrat or an Independent that is supporting Kerry-Edwards, or Ralph Nader, so be it. Some of my closest friends and family members are not Republicans. Please respect this thread and do not denigrate it if you have nothing constructive to say. May I suggest that instead you spend your time working for the election of your candidates.

I'm sorry to disrupt your arrogance Mr. May, but when a president has mis-led his own country to the degree Mr. Bush has, you cannot expect people who are able to open and see plainly before themselves with thier own eyes and rational the havoc this moron has caused to remain silent. The debates clearly showed Mr. Kerry as the more qualified leader than your perplexed bumbling meaningless sound bite repeating to the cult of his ignorant base president. Time to wake up and take some advice from your democratic friends and family.

Thank you all for your contributions to this thread.

Crazy - You may be but we love you any way.
Llama - I respectfully disagree but this is America
Nails - Are you telling us that you are following Kerry like a sheep?
Luv 2 cruise - I luv Kerry - not !
Maplewoody - Very creative but hardly on the level of intelligent discourse
Duncanrogers - In my opinion I have not denigrated any threads, but since we have not defined our terms, you are entitled to your interpretation.
Sbenois - Does you failure heretofore to post on my thread mean you do not love me anymore?
Joan - I will answer your question as soon as I can
Dave - Are you moderating or is Jamie?
Jamie - Reverse ditto
Straw - Where have you gone ?

To all the rest of you - denigrate away if it makes you happy. Everytime you post it moves the thread to the top of the list.

Great to see the Ziegler-May campaign team still in the thick of things. And Joel, your refurbished office down here on Springfiled Avenue looks great. Hope you enjoy working with you spouse as much as I do. Joel, I am actually amazed that you understand how to post online and that you finally invested in a decent computer for your office. Looks like Ed will be a regular down here if they keep stealing the BUSH-CHENEY sign in fron of your office. By the way, I am not crazy about Kerry, and not sure about voting for Bush again; is Nadir actually on the ballot in New Jesrey?

luv2cruise - If you read Marilyn's post you will see that we were all posting from Joel's Office, one after the other, and having a little fun doing it. Joel will affirm this if you ask him. None of this is to say that I do not have many personalities : the poster, the professor, the politician, the consultant, the comedian, the co-founder of SOMBI, etc.
Nails - Say Whatttttttttttt?

Why do you always put Esq. after your name? Nobody else lists their credentials.

REPORT ON RUDY GIULIANI CAMPAIGN RALLY IN SUPPORT OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH AT RAMSEY HIGH SCHOOL SATURDAY OCTOBER 2, 2004

Ramsey HS is located in the middle of Ramsey NJ, in the heart of Bergen County, not far from where I grew up, and was easy to find.

Hundreds of people snaked around the High School, past the Marching Band, and the Tumbling Cheerleaders for Bush. I re-acquainted myself with Republicans that I had met at the convention. Congressman Scott Garrett worked the line, and remembered me from the Symposium on Steel Tariffs that I conducted in Newark during the summer of 2001, when he was only a candidate.

We passed through Security and down a corridor and past backstage into the greatly illuminated, rather large gym. The ubiqious raised platform in the back of the gym hosted a multitude of television cameras from the various local television stations, and some print media. The stands were already full, so I manuevered myself into a standing location somewhat in front of the stage.

We waited an hour before Joe Kyrillos got the event started. National Anthem, Convocation, and a little rah rah. We heard from the county chairman, county sheriff, etc. A bunch of local office holders and wannabees were introduced.

Congressman Garrett gave a very stirring speech in support of the President, based on his personal dealings with the man, and his time so far in Washington. (Had it not been for this suddenly set up rally, Scott and I would have been over in Saddle River at a Fundraiser for Congressional candidate George Ajjan, who by the way, would represent South Orange.)

No one had to prompt us with "FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP" or "4 More Years !!!".

Gubernatorial Candidates Doug Forrester and Bob Schroeder were present but did not speak.

Before Rudy spoke, we got former NYC Police Commisioner Bernie Carrick who was there when the towers fell and led the NYPD through their worst 24 hours ever on 9-11-1. Hard to describe the emotions that his words evoked. Interestingly, he was originally from NJ, and recently moved to Franklin Lakes (where my folks used to live).

Finally, we got Rudy. America's Mayor. The World's Mayor. Fellow Yankee Fan. And a football fan, too. Earlier in the afternoon Rudy was over at St. Joe's watching his son kick 5 extra points and a field goal.

Rudy warned up the crowd and delivered an eloquent series of arguments for the re-election of the President. Some off it echoed the marvelous speech that I heard Rudy give on Night One of the RNC.

Some off it was new. Rudy beleves that John Kerry made "close to fatal" mistakes during the first debate. Including but not limited to Kerry's contradictions during the debate and numerous falsehoods told.

Rudy reminded us that Kerry is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, with a consistant anti-defense, pro-high taxes voting record. Rudy also pointed out that Kerry's favorite Boston Red Sox player is the non-existent "Manny Ortez". Kind of like saying your favorite Yankee is "Alex Jedder"!

Rudy pointed out that NJ (per 8 different polls) is now a statistical dead heat. Kerry's 20 point lead in NJ has evaporated. And Rudy is sending Democrat Ed Koch over to NJ to campaign for Bush and close the deal.

Almost every "purple" state at this time (one month to go) is a state that the Democrats won in 2000. There are virtually no dead heat states at this time that the Democrats are trying to take back from the Republicans. We "said Rudy" are fighting on Democrat soil; they are not fighting on our turf.

And that was it, except that when Rudy was leaving he signed a bunch of autographs, and passed by me in the doorway, on the way out.

Coming Soon: Laura visits again and hangs with Christie, Cheney visits us (details to follow), and - mark my words - "W" will be here too. (Rumor had it that George W. Bush was going to helicopter today into Ramsey, just as his father coptered into Ridgewood during his campaign. But alas "W" got tied up in Ohio and could not make it to Jersey today. But soon he will.

"Best Bumper Sticker" seen today : FLUSH THE JOHNS !

SORRY about the underlining - I could not figure out how to make theunderlining stop once it got started.

Insite,

You don't have to wake up to scream W's name in terror. All you have to do is read the papers and look at the news to see nightmare he has gotten us into. Nailz is the one who is having trouble with nightmares.

Ed May: You didn't answer my question. Are you a "ditto head?" I guess we can assume you are if you don't respond.
