A friend of mine who hates getting junk mail sent me this link: http://www.operationmailback.com/. So if you really want to stick it mass marketers, or just have a little extra time on your hands and want to do something that makes you feel good, give it a try. |

a better way is to tape the mail back card to a brick and mail that. |

But does that really work? I always send back my junk mail, with the envelope stuffed with whatever paper I have lying around at the time. If I thought I could send packages with those mailers, I'd surely do so. |

Like Libertarian said...If postage is prepaid on one of those annoying return cards, you can attach it to a brick. A friend of mine did that and handed it to his mail man - the mail man took it without question as if it happens all the time. He did it on a survey for a job he had just left to "screw" company out of the postage |

Do you have to wrap the brick in paper first? |

My friend just used packing tape and taped the card around the brick - didn't wrap it up so you could clearly see it was a brick. |

I would never waste a brick. Aquaman's Foolproof Junk Mail Stopper: 1.Ignore cat box for a week. 2 weeks in multiple cat households. 2.Empty contents into a (clean) ziplock freezer bag. 3. Wrap bag with brown packing tape and attach return postage. 4. Drop in nearest mailbox and pat yourself on the back. Just think! Now you have more time to pull wings off butterflies and step on puppydog tails.

Of course, without junk mail, it would probably cost the rest of us $2 to mail a letter. And given the uproar every time the post office raises the rate by two cents, I'm guessing that wouldn't be acceptable to most folks.

Actually, the post office is flush with money. The recent increase was due to some law congress passed that said the post office had to have billions of dollars in reserve. |

Crazy_q--I feel the same way! Hopefully my letter carrier sees it as job security. I must be the queen of junk mail. I recycle all of it and every year or so I call to get off mailing lists which stops the flow for a while but it just keeps coming.
