Just taking a look at the free online yahoo greetings. There are actually ones for "will you marry me".... http://www1.yahoo.americangreetings.com/category.pd?path=40804& Now, I realize that the rules of etiquette have changed with the "age of technology"...but would anyone actually A) send this as their proposal or B) accept a proposal from someone who would propose through a free online Yahoo greeting? |

I'm sure we'll be hearing stories of people who accepted these e-proposals, though it does seem a shame.

Absolutely not. Don't you think it's probably the laziest and least personal way to be proposed to? I say get your arse to Tiffany's and propose to me face to face, buddy. The age of technology needn't change age-old classics. |

I think it is fine. What about if your loved one is overseas. This would be a happy suprise. As for Tiffany's, I have heard that the ribs are great. But really, if someone proposed to me, they better have a nice ring to give me. |

Really? So a lousy guy with a good ring gets the nod over a prince with a gumball machine ring? That can't be right. |

Haha, you guys are funny (said with sarcasm). Yes, if you are overseas, it might be nice but that's an extreme case. If you live near me and we see each other often, then you best not be sending me an evite for marriage! That's a recipe for a serious kicking. |

If you're overseas???? OK - even if a proposal couldn't wait until we met again (not sure why it couldn't wait a little while since marriage is supposed to be forever anyway, but I digress...), I think I would at least expect him to send me a video recording on DVD or similar of himself proposing to me...even just a photo of him holding a sign that says "Will you marry me"...sorry even overseas proposals deserve better than a yahoo greeting. If I got a Yahoo proposal, I'd think he was a Yahoo... The ring can wait (not too long though... ), but I'd like something personal from the man who is proposing to me. I don't need violins and roses - just something personal. (My husband actually proposed while we sat in the car in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot drinking coffee, yet it was the sweetest most heartfelt moment - I wouldn't have traded that for all the champagne-filled proposals in the world.) |

Sorry, couldn't help be a bit obnoxious, just this once. Actually, a diamond to the right woman at the right time is my style. Didn't mean to offend |

If the ring were Cartier, then it's a whole different story. |

Someone proposed to me once by taking out a very big display ad in the Snooze Wrecked. I made the mistake of saying 'yes.' Then I got smart about 6 months before the wedding... |
