They keep describing his head as "perfectly egg shaped". Doesn't that make him more appealling to you, mem? Actually i have to agree that the deerhound was very attractvie. i also liked the Rotti, becus the guy was the owner, breeder, and handler, and he reminded me of Good Dog, Carl. |

There was a story in the NY Times yesterday on this general subject. The popular dog breeds rarely if ever win Best in Show. If this is because they are overexposed or, to the judges, boring is an open question. The dogs are judged by the breed standard, so beauty doesn't come into it. I am sure that the winner is a wonderful example of his breed, however, attractive he ain't.  |
