2 years now, and it's still several minutes late....anyone ever think to tell the Bank Manager to have that fixed? Is the temparature guage off as well?

I always approach the station thinking I'm early (on the clock time), only to see my train pulling in and realize that I'm actually LATE.

Smarty, not only is the clock you can see from the platform probably wrong, but the other clock on the street side doesn't match it. Neither do the temperature readings. LOL

Smarty: For two years you have noticed it's wrong...why do you continue to look at it for your gauge of early/late/on time for the train? Just seems strange to continue to look at it if you KNOW it's wrong. IMHO

That clock has been off for a lot more than two years. It's been inaccurate ever since a certain person or persons kept hitting it with projectiles, taking the clock completely out of service for extended periods of time.

Not microclimates, Hank. It is actually a small black hole and time and temperature vary minutely but significantly as you near the event horizon.

Lucy- I'm a born optimist, and everyday I wake up and think that today is the day that the Annoying clock was FIXED!.....only to be foiled....kind of like groundhog day.

All the power to you Smarty...just so long as you remember each morning that NJ Transit doesn't run by the Valley Bank Clock but runs on its own clock (some days who knows what it is actually ;)

Not that you asked but I find it much better to set my own clocks to the NY Penn Station time (the one on the screen saying ALL ABOARD), since that is the clock the trains move on. I find it makes for a lot less running and "hoping" that since MY clock says I'm on time, according to NY Penn I'm 2 minutes late.

Just something I've found to make the commute a little less stressful on those last minute days! False hope is not what I need at 6:40 in the morning....

Ok...that's my two cents for the day..... :-)

not only are the time and the temperature incorrect, but the convertion from farenheit to centigrades don't seem to match at all!
you would think at least the covertion calculator would be able to translate whatever temperature was marked correctly...

This is the smartest thread started to date on MOL. That clock is a royal pain. It's amazing a clock so close to a train station can be so off..

Does this mean that Protect the Constitution Tomorrow at Maplewood will start late?

Depends on which clock you go by.
