What the hell. I am an avid tennis fan and the newscasters/sportcasters are driving me up a wall with their love of male tennis. Roger Federer this, Roger Federer that. And don't get me wrong, I like his game and his personality. But isn't where a great upset about the lack of depth in men's tennnis?!?!! Whenever a woman consistently won tennis mathes, the sportcasters were belly aching about a lack of depth in talent. About how it is really boring for the same person to keep winning. I don't hear any of this crap with Federer. Now that Mauresmo has broken through (well-kinda); I don't think that one woman has won all the majors. YET NO COMMENT!!! COCK- roaches |

Most of the attention is well-deserved: Federer is on track to match Sampras's 14 slams, and plays an elegant, full-court game in the style of Rod Laver. Even though I personally prefer to watch womens' tennis, I don't think there is anyone on the landscape right now that we can reasonably expect to equal the achievements of Court, King, Martina (N.), Evert and Graff. Mens' tennis has been so boring and one-dimensional until recently: atomic first serves and powe slugging from the baseline. Points are over in 2 or 3 strokes. It's really refreshing to see someone with a net game win the big tournaments. It's been awhile.... |

I actually read the title of this thread as "Sexiest Sportscasters", and was interested to see who was mentioned. Otherwise, yes, it does seem that men's tennis gets most of the attention. Even the prize money is higher (though some might argue it's justified since men must play more sets). However, in general, men's tennis is a lot more powerful and, I think, more fun to watch. I was getting tired of the Williams sisters, frankly. |

I didn't know there was womens tennis, Navratilowa, the Williams 'sisters', they all have more muscles and wider shouldes then most men.
