So... what's the best item you've ever found during one of Maplewood's bulk pickup days? Also, what is the ODDEST thing you've ever put out that someone has appropriated? I may drive around a little later - actually, I always plan to do so but somehow never get around to it. |

We would like to thank WM for letting the zone 1 pick-up extend into 2 days. My friend has a boarding house and requested some dressers-which we found on night 2 of pick-up. We also found a cool gun cabinet with the key! Thank you Lexington Avenue resident We have an old metal desk and one clean-up we found a baby version of it |

Best Item--two oak side tables that were a bit chunked up. We repainted them and they made great playroom furniture. Strangest thing: Greenetree's grandmother. |

I got a very nice pair of bicycle wheels. They're very dusty but in perfect condition. This is nice for me, since bike repair is my hobby.

Thanks, ESL. Now that I know her whereabouts, I feel like I have a moral obligation to give you money to feed her. Unless, of course, you aren't feeding her. Which would be OK. |

Things are hot and heavy on my block right now - a veritable "carnival atmosphere"... it reminds me of how it must have been for the folks in East Berlin when they were allowed to visit West Berlin for the first time: a mad scurry to secure consumer goods. At least everyone seems to be having a good time before the rain comes through. |

Uncleelmer, How much do you want for eyespy's bikini? My kids are looking for a new tent. Let me know when you put the sign up for sale, MOM would be so proud. |

Uncle, that explains why I found Eyespy naked on BULK pick up day. We were going to take eyespy home with us and put him on the front lawn to scare the neighbors but when we tried to lift him up we realized why they call it BULK pick up. |

eb1154, you were great last night. On the way home, I cruised through zone 9. I picked up two wicker porch chairs and a matching coffee table. I also got a folding stool and an ancient shovel, built like a tank. I examined a bicycle that needed only a saddle, but I passed, because I don't really need another bike.

mem, don't let this question die until it's answered. And for sure don't let them try to tell you that they are discussing bulk pick-up. Hah. |

Hi Eats... I finally figures out where that quote is coming from: The title of "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" is reference to an old joke based a wildlife manual which claims a panda "eats, shoots and leaves" instead of "eats shoots and leaves." Lynne Truss (the author) has provided every writer an educational book about the proper use of punctuation. Just cause I am bored....time to go home |

Tom, Thanks. I thought it was a good night also. Wendy, you are right...we aren't talking about bulk pick up. Uncleelmer, believe me when I tell you it was work last night. So many people so little time. I suggested we break off in to smaller groups for the next session. And who are you kidding, you will never get rid of that sign. If anyone should be mad, it should be me. I just spoke with eyespy and he said you wore the little catholic school girl outfit for him. You promised you wouldn't wear that for anyone else. Who's the big meanie now? |

We got a 17" HP computer monitor in perfect working order off the curb a few years ago. We figured someone got a new flatscreen monitor to replace it and just put it out. Another year we got two of those "flip bed" soft chairs that fold out into a twin size bed. They are purple and were just slightly water stained, but not bad - probably better than some of our "real" furniture at this point. My kids use them for sleepovers a lot! Those are probably the best things, but we always get some good stuff. |

I thought you were getting tired of that outfit so I got the french maid outfit you were looking at in the store. You thought I didn't see you, but I saw the way you were going gaga over it. I wanted to suprise you but I guess the cat is out of the bag now. It also came with a feather duster which I can use when you come home all dirty from a hard day at work. Eyespy wants to know if he can wear the catholic school outfit for you. He even promised to do his hair the special way you like it(2 long red pigtails) |

We found an anchor in our garage when we moved in and finally put it out for bulk trash this time and it went! Some sailor found what he needed. I too have picked up a working computer monitor and a replacement roof for my daughter's dolls house to make it playable with again. My son has an amazing collection of bikes thanks to bulk trash. I love bulk trash time! |
