How many of you caught Stephen Colbert (live right now) at the Press Club Dinner?
Reminded me of the play in Hamlet!!
"The play's the thing wherein we will catch the conscience of the king!!"

He wasn't funny. Did you think he wanted to be?

Anyway, if you missed it, it'll be on again tomorrow on C-Span, 12:30 pm.

Enjoy. I think Colbert was as smooth and as courageous as they come.

Of course, the Helen Morgan skit was hysterical.

Maybe he was channeling Bill O'Reilly?

I think he does that all the time. This time, he broke through that, and was himself I think, especially when he looked Mr. Bush in the eye and was so sardonic, no one laughed.

It was great. That's what I call REAL sarcasm, not the kind of slapstick you see sometimes.

And it's the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.

How long before he offers to take a loufa to one of his more attractive aides?

That is, if he is actually channeling Bill O'Reilly. (Alledgedly)

Glock: Cute picture!!!

facts: He's not channeling him THAT much. When you try to imagine O'Reilly saying what Colbert does, it's pretty funny.

No, I don't think Colbert is as funny as Jon Stewart, and success may spoil both of them, but the Correspondents' Assocation shindig was sorta cool, especially since the likes of Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame were sitting in the same room with George and Laura, were sitting in the same room with a few other choice Dems. Conspicuously absent were Teddy Kennedy, Dan Rather (that would have been interesting), Bob Schieffer. All the President's White House Correspondents were there, though...Wolf Blitzer, C-Span who I just KNEW had a soft spot for the Administration, John Roberts, and of course, Tony Snow. (Colbert said his new code name is "SNOW JOB"-good one!!)
Kinda goofy, but still wierd. I even thought Bush was funny, with his sidekick double. Laura almost stole the show.
You should watch, if you're not coming to the Lambertville Shad Festival (just thought I'd get that one in for free.)
See Bush talk about what kind of duck he is.
