If I remember correctly, I believe the "attached" name was Adam Moskowitz. It's not really outing, if they weren't anonymous in the first place. |

My response was to:

You'll have to draw your own conclusions beyond that...

I understand that some parents overreact to a child's sensitivity to peanuts but you have to realize the difference between a sensitivity and an allergy. A true peanut ALLERGY is a serious life threatening condition. This does not just affect children, but adults also. Try looking up anaphylactic shock. Peanut allergies are NOT a psychosomatic condition. |

I accept your point combustion and you are right. I am just disgusted with the first group of parents you discuss that unfortunately are over-indulging themselves with the sensitivity issue and just like the ADHD parents, they end up crippling our school system with their ridiculous needs. Thank you for being among the first group of responders who appear to have both a brain and a pulse. |

Cerebrus, are you sure you're not just pissed that your mommy wouldn't give you peanuts as a child? |

I could hardly consider me or my parents 'crippling' the school system...but... I think the problem here stems from a phallus minimus. ahem. |

Glock, this is not the forum to be discussing your clear fixation with my genital size. Now..please expand on your first statement. You seem to suggest that you are one of the ADHD/peanut allergy children that had overindulgent parents and that demanded that the school system accommodate these selfish and disgusting special ed requirements. Without any regard to additional tax I had to pay to support this, you imply that your parents behavior was acceptable since you think you "came out OK" (though I suspect you are an adult bed wetter) XLB has spoken.

Tom and Bajou, Thank you for your cliche and thoughtless references re: Cerebrus Maximus = Troll. However, my posting behavior isn't consistent with the defined behavior patterns that trolling has been reduced to. May I call your attention to my friendly and helpful (and certainly not inflammatory) postings in the recent "NJT Lost and Found", "Microwave Oven", "Gas Grill Hookup", and "Snowblower Maintenance". Sorry to inform but I am not the pathological character you wish me to be. I am a warm and cuddly individual that would lend a helping hand at a moments notice. Have I mentioned that I love animals, am a champion of the disadvantaged and give generously to several charities? But that does not mean that I can advocate the self-indulgent and sick parental behavior that I have been witness to since moving here. The dismissive troll reference fails to make my disclosures any less meaningful, I can assure you. |

Well ADHD is the result of neglectful parenting; ficticious peanut allergies the result of parents that have Munchhausens-by-proxy syndrome so in each case the child is a victim. I guess we could extrapolate that to being disadvantaged but not due to nature and instead due to (lack of) nurture. |

You ought to let the medical profession know the cure or prevention of these life threatening allergies. We've taken my daughter to the emergency room a few times because of accidental exposure to her food allergen. Her life was in grave danger. If I could prevent that, we would be much happier.

I dont mean to minimize that danger she was in and I sincerely hope that those episodes subside. As time goes by that frequently happens. Just a little frustrated that too many parents exaggerate the peanut allergy claim thereby diluting the level of attention that should be paid to those that are desperately and genuinely in need of help.

I doubt you are truly in a position to know who's exaggerating. Some parents exaggerate a lot of what their kids go through, but I've never seen one do that about life-threatening allergies. If you feel you have, what is your qualification to determine it?

Oh he knows what he is talking about Tom. He might not have kids of his own (hopefully) and he probably hasn't had many pleasant experiences at parties and the likes in several years and the hate against parents who have a problem with peanut allergies now makes sense cause HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT ..... go look: http://www.planters.com/dancing/ |
