SLK - believe it or not, I agree with you. What is wrong with the parents that they allow this kind of behavior?

Hoops-

The mother is nice but not very sharp and no backbone. We hear them fighting from time to time but obviously she can't control him. He is not a bad kid, he just hangs out with a bunch of leeching losers.

No more fing around though. I have been too nice about this. On Memorial Day my Mother in law had to go into the house with all the cursing going on.

The hammer is coming down and it is judgement day for this kid. if it comes down on his head well so be it...

Dear SLK:

You posted none of these facts in your original post. In your original post it was 1 am not 2 am. You did not mention your sick two year old but just that your wife went outside and threatened to call the cops. Then you said that they apologized so no I did not think it was that bad.

You wrote
"I think you are desperately trying to hang on to whats left of your youth, even if it means taking foolish postions."

I am the mother of a 17 year old and a 16 year old and both are great kids. I am going to be 39 years old tomorrow and frankly might be younger or older then you thought but one thing is for sure.."I have more manners then both you and JB. I have not in all these posting resorted to cursing, name-calling and getting insulting. I just had a difference in opinion and I do believe that it's still ok to not agree in the good old US of A.

Bajou-

You are correct, I should have been more clearer with the facts. But really now, 1AM? 2AM? What is the difference? And it shouldn't matter if my child is sick. It is about respect Bajou. I don't do this to them so why do they think it is right to do it to myself and the rest of the neighbors?

I am 37 by the way....Happy Birthday! :-)

I think SLK is being perfectly reasonable. The occasional loud, late party is one thing. We could argue about what consitutes occasional, but every night or several times per week is not occasional and youthful exuberance is no excuse.

I got this quote from your Friday, June 9, 2006 - 8:03 am post:

"He isn't a bad kid but he isn't too far from being on a Jerry Springer special. A high school dropout, he works 2nd shift at a grocery store so his friends usually meet him after work and hang out in his backyard drinking, smoking, yelling at 1AM"

In you first post you mentioned the kid had the third shift. That he and his buddies were yelling, smoking drinking in the early morning. Like you said 1am or 2am, not much of a difference. I'd be annoyed if someone made noise more then once in a while after Midnight.

JTA-

Ahhh! Well I had a long talk with the boys mother this afternoon and apparently her son doesn't like these people very much and doesn't even want them at his house. They just show up before he gets home from work and he doesn't have much of a backbone (it runs in the family). He apparently told his mother on the phone to make sure "they leave before he gets home..." I told her how all the neighbors are annoyed and enough is enough or the cops will be involved and she agrees...she plans to relay this message...let see what happens...
