I'd rent one. They're expensive and you'd only need it for a few minutes.

I thought it was a preview from the new Madonna tour at first, but then I realized she was wearing too many clothes

So who is Madonna in the picture above, the flaunting whore, the disciplinarian mother or the mystic jew named Esther?

I don't know, but in my neck of the woods they call that "suffering from mutliple personalities...."

She really needs to get over herself

She really needs to get over herself whenever she decides who that actually is....

. . . . Another manufactured controversy that the media morons will prattle on about for the next few weeks.

Let's see, said madonna, how can I boost my lagging record sales and poor tour sales? What has worked before? Why, create a fake controversy, of course! Let's offend the church! That's always good for a few headlines.

How much of an ego do you have to portray yourself in such a way?

I think Madonna's still cool - not "cool"-cool, but she knows how to keep people talking.

She was the downtown "it" girl with the big skirts and messy hair, the pointy-boobed S & M singer, the "are they or aren't they?" best friend of Sandra Bernhard phase, Dick Tracy/Warren Beatty phase, SEX/Vanilla Ice phase, Kaballah/English countrywoman phase, Children's book author, the shiny Versace babe...

I know I missed about a dozen incarnations, but she knows how to hold an audience without really being great at anything except being Madonna.

It would only be bad if Bush did it.

Then Howard Dean and the other extreme lefties would worry he was trying to bring on the rapture.

Rastro-

Clearly Madonna thinks she has blown past the celebrity envelope and is now a christ-like figure. She only needs a Mel Gibson movie for validation.

On the bright side she has not become a scientologist, so she doesn't have that constant and plastered weird smile on her face like Tom Cruise.

It's somewhat narcissistic and egotistical, but largely in bad taste.

However, as has been alluded to, Madonna knows how to reinvent herself. She knows how to stay in the public eye. She is a superb marketer. Whatever it is has made her extremely successful - and her antics incite reaction long past the point anyone should still care.

What is with that hairdo? That flip back look is so ridiculous and unflattering.

Yuck.
