 Pdg - It is :
Phyllis Reynolds Naylor wrote an Newbery Medal-winning book called " Shiloh", and its sequels, "Saving Shiloh" & "Shiloh Season".

 from Amazon.com re: Shiloh:
"This 1992 Newbery Medal winner revolves around an 11 -year-old boy who finds an abused dog near his West Virginia hills home;" (FYI, Shiloh is the dog's name, not the boy's.)

I'm sure Jennifer will be just fine too -- she'll look at old pics of her and Brad and look at pics of her and Vince Vaughn, and she'll dash to put her head in the oven!

I figgered Angelina must of really dug Neil Diamond!

 From Neil's Home Page..

I began listening to Neil Diamond in the early seventies. I was in my

teenage years. On the radio came a song by Neil called "Shiloh". The

song captured my heart and started a dream of mine. We never had many

children to play with when we were growing up. I decided I wanted to

have a little girl someday and would like to name her Shiloh after

Neil's song. I kept this dream a secret for 14 years

Interesting bit of research...funny how it also instantly recalled everything about the record, too!!!!! Sudden flashback to schooldays - Nancy, you're way too cruel! (I'm meant to be focussing on work that needs to be done before I go to the office!)

Angelina is just STUNNING! That picture is so beautiful of her. Congrats to them. Personally, I could care less about Jennifer's "heartache". She's got a lot in her life to be thankful for, and all that "poor Jennifer" bit and "awwww, I hope she'll be okay" was ridiculous. She got over that when she flew to her next movie set and getting that million $$$ paycheck.

.....and the day before Angelina's baby was born, Gwen Stefani delivered a baby boy in Los Angeles.

However..he too has an odd name:

 Kingston James McGregor Rossdale.

Kingston? Gwen's husband Gavin Rossdale is English and I'm wondering if he is from Kingston Upon Thames, a lovely riverside town on the western edge of London.

I also think Kingston is cool, but not if they shorten it to King. Not cool

I am back from vacation and heck I missed the bunch of you !!!!

Anyway..I am pissed..how dare that cow deliver her child in a country that does not have the funds to waste on her stupid security detail.

Frankly I am beside myself...here she is acting like she is sooo concerned about safety of the third world children?? Bull crap...how about not asking a third world country to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and manpower to make sure she can have her baby in peace. Why not deliver at home and send the money saved to Namibia. They could have built a hospital with it...

Here are some facts the average pregnant woman deals with in Namibia...far cry from poor Angelina:

The infant mortality rate in Namibia, according to the CIA’s website, is 48.1 deaths per 1000 live births. In 2003, 21 percent of Namibians died of AIDS. Women are only expected to live to age 42 in Namibia. Men aren't expected to live past their 44th birthday.

But let’s not make any mistake here: any pregnant woman in Namibia would trade just about anything to have her baby in the United States. And not to disparage other parts of the country, but the hospitals where Pitt and Jolie probably would have had Shiloh—Cedars Sinai in West Hollywood or New York Presbyterian in Manhattan—tops in the world. A Namibian mother could not even fathom the care she would receive in either of those places.

Have they ever seen a Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie movie? It’s unlikely. They have little electricity outside the “luxury resort.” The CIA fact book says that 34.9 percent of the population lives on $1 per day and 55.8 percent live on $2 per day. There’s a 35 percent unemployment rate. There may be one movie theater, but there is no record of the Pitt-Jolie action pic “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” having played there. DVD players are nearly non-existent, since a TV would be needed. Few residents—mostly visiting white people and the scattered “wealthy”—have satellite dishes.

So I can only imagine what the Namibians who’ve been pressed into service for this birth are thinking (and not saying) to Pitt, Jolie and company. “Stupid Americans" comes to mind or "Patronizing Hollywood stars" is another. But Namibians are too polite to say such things. They have more important issues on their minds.

Oh it's good to be back...

I do find it ridiculous that they are having a baby in Namibia, but brought their own doctors and have an helicopter ready to go to Paris in case of any emergency - what does that say to the people of Namibia? In my opinion, if they want to have a baby in Namibian, have it the "Namibian way"... local doctors, local resources, and deal with the rest like the people in Namibian do. If you want the expertise of american doctors, have the baby in the US.

But I wouldn't go as far as calling Angelina a cow...

Me calling her a cow might possibly have something to do with my figure being nothing like hers. It's true, I am shallow and cattie (don't know how to spell that) and pissed at that gorgeous w(b)itch.

I might not be Jollie material but I am woman enough to admit it.LOL

Well , the "cow" had tohave a c-section, wonder what thay'll do to her figure?

 Continue on the name tho..

f one were to take a literal approach to analyzing the entire name, Jolie and Pitt could appear exceedingly bold in dubbing their daughter the "new Messiah."

Gee...wonder why the c-section. Guess it's good to be the queen. Wonder if that ob/gyn did some charity work in the three weeks he was sitting around. I mean the least they could have done is to share their resources and have the good doctor working on some locals who are not as lucky.

Frankly when I heard the statement that she wanted to have the child there because they are treated like regular people and not movie stars I almost threw up. Don't think many Namibians or any other people can rent out an entire resort and have the beach cleared plus people thrown out of a country on their whim.

Re the c-section, one can only assume in la la land it's not posh to push...

 unless it's

Push your way to the front of the line
Push you way into a party
Push past people as you try to get to another a-listed celeb

OK - so apparently the baba was breech - there's the reason for the cs.

Still, too many "celebs" find a cs to be a convenient way to "schedule" things...

A cow? Wow. They are selling the first pix of the baby to a US weekly for $5 million - all of it being donated to Unicef.
Having been to Namibia I will vouch for it not being as backward as you are making it to be Bajou. I'm no Angelina apologist but out of most celebrities she seems the least likely to leave the locals holding the bag.

 Meow ladies!

How many of you knew how to spell "Nambia" before Angelina had her baby there?

She gave a lot of money to a poor country and directed a spot-light on it as only a celebrity can -

I think Angelina Jolie is the real deal - she cares about humankind more than celebrity for it's own sake.

Since she's drop-dead gorgeous she invokes a lot of unfair criticism and barbs.

So she had a team of doctors at her birth - big deal, her activism has likely saved hundreds of babies.

I hate it when women attack women - we should be united - yes?

With all due respect, Lydia, Nambia is another country altogether.

Angelina Jolie had her baby in Namibia.

As for me, I knew how to spell both, and find them on a map, way before this brouhaha even began.

There's a Zambia. No Nambia. Nor Pambia.
There is a Zembla, but it's fictional. Same with Freedonia.

Angelina is a cutter (which is incurable and very sick) and has other major mental problems that seem to be under control for the moment. I am just waiting for her to do something else that makes me embarrassed to be a woman. Like maybe wear Brad's peepee on a chain around her neck?

 Ugh.
