...their client's crap onto the neighbor's property. Every freaking week during spring, summer, fall for the last 3 years, their workers use those god-awful blowers to blow their clients' sidewalk, median, and gutters immacurately clean by blowing it all onto my side of the street onto my gutters, median, and sidewalk. WHY??? I've called their office several times to complain (because their workers don't speak any English) and have talked to my neighbors who then talked to the workers but it happens again and again. I've finally given up. BUt I'm burning with anger...why do they think it's okay to do this??? And why do they continue to do it after repeated complains???

Redhead, If I were you, I'd be out there at the same time with my blower blowing all that crap right back at them!! That should settle it no matter what language you speak! ;) |

I went thru this with my neighbor's landscaper a few years ago. Speak to your neighbor; as a paying customer, they have more standing (kind of) with the company. And I learned that standing in the yard, gesturing angrily that they should blow the crap back off of my lawn is a universal language. |

save up a few bags of your household garbage, when they're on your street working walk up to the truck and throw the bags in the trailer. |

Years ago I had an argument with Glenn's landscaping for the exact same reason. After I called the office several times to complain he came by, and we exchanged a few nasty words. The workers also threw their cigarette butts onto my driveway & grass!

probably overkill, but if you have a video recorder, record them blowing the leaves onto your property. Be very conspicuous. It doesn't matter if the camera is even on. |

My neighbors talked to the workers twice already. The workers sheepishly blew clean our gutters and median both times. And on other times I've stood on my side of the streets just to let them I'm watching...and they were careful not to blow the debris onto our side. But the following week they just go right back to doing what they normally do! I just can't watch over them every freaking week! I've given up. Sorry to complain. |

Redheadgirl, be glad they're not using your property as a toilet, which has happened twice with me. The first time I called the office and the byotch who answered the phone treated me like some kind of idiot. The second time I walked right outside, stared the guy down (he quickly zipped up), found the "supervisor" who did speak english, and told him if I EVER saw one of his guys peeing on my property again, I'd call the cops! Such a lovely, pleasant, warm-weather experience! |

Me&, you are nicer than I'd have been. In this day and age of cell phone and digital cameras, I'd have shot me some proof & called the cops. It's no joke to expose yourself (no matter the reason) where kids might see you. And you are a photographer, after all..... Besides, let him pee in his customer's yard. |

Red, at the time I didn't have the digital camera, and you couldn't see their "private parts," although it was obvious what they were doing. One was peeing against the truck at the curb in front of MY house (not the customer's), with his back to my house. The other was peeing against the side of my garage, not far back enough where I couldn't see (stupid!), but far back enough so his naughty bits weren't seen. But I will keep that in mind if they ever prove to have forgotten my warning. Obviously, calling the owner of Anthony's gets you nowhere. Maybe next time I just send Buster out to bite their wankers off! Or, at the very least, scare the bejesus out of them! |

OMG that would be so funny! I can't believe they would do that in your yard!! I should set my sister up with them (long story, short version, my sis peed in someone's front lawn on Midland much to my dismay) |

Redhead- A suggestion from my nephew who is reading over my shoulder getting impatient because he wants to sue ***my*** computer. Call the office and inquire if their employees are 'legal.' Then ask if they are paid 'on the books.' That should put a scare in them to get them to stop. |

While I sympathize with the desire not to have landscapers peeing on/near your respective properties, I also have a bit of sympathy for the poor landscapers who have to do however many houses each day in hot weather, presumably trying to keep hydrated while having next to no access to toilets. Perhaps the solution is to a) offer your toilet or b) suggest to your neighbor(s) who pay them that they make their toilets available. After all, we all have to go sometimes, and these fellows are presented with a major dilemma every day. |

You could always file a complaint with Town of Maplewood. The landscaping companies must register with the Township of Maplewood each year. You could complain that they are violating Ordinance #2214-03 or that they are violating Ordinance 2322-05 "Improper Disposal of Waste". According to Ordinance #2214-03 "AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE LEAF BLOWER MACHINES AND TO REGISTER LAWN MAINTENANCE BUSINESSES WITHIN THE TOWNSHIP OF MAPLEWOOD": I. PROHIBITIONS. (a) Use of leaf blowers with a decibel rating of greater than 65 dB(a) by commercial lawn maintenance businesses shall be prohibited between the dates of May 1st thru October 15th of each year; (b) In order to control harmful emissions, only leaf blower machines that meet the latest Federal EPA "Standards for Small Spark Ignition Handheld Engines" shall be permitted. and we move down to..... IV. No commercial lawn maintenance business shall deposit leaves on a public street before September 1st or after December 1st of each year. |

mwoodwalk, of course I sympathize with the guys who have little or no access to toilet facilities during the day. But I'll be damned if I'm offering my toilet. If they worked for me, I might. But they work for my neighbor. They can pee on my neighbor's property, or stop at a gas station, or go back to the office, or ask at the fire department or police station, or use the facilities at the civic house, or whatever. My property is not a toilet. |

Me, well said. I would definitely offer my toilet to our landscapers. I have offered them water, snacks etc. They are working on my property, not my neighbors. |

JTA - why be mean spirited? These are hard-working people making an honest living. I would take that as a threat. I would not let a stranger into my house. I would, however, offer them something to drink. A Catch-22, I know. Me&'s point about gas stations and public building is well-taken. There are too many freaks out there and you honestly have no idea how well the employer screens these guys or what he even knows about them. Many jobs have set breaks or can only use facilities at certain times (i.e., bus drivers, cab drivers). The crews can make pit stops between jobs. Besides, the least they can do is pee on their customers' lawns.
