I grew up in Maplewood but now live in Morris County. My parents still live in town so I am frequently in town. I was in town this weekend and was disappointed at the number of people soliciting donations, signatures and such as I walked through town. It was actually difficult to walk with my kids. It reminded me of the scene in the movie airplane when people have to walk by all the people offering info on their religions. I have no problem with groups being there to offer information and talk with interested people, but when they step in front of the tables and or set up in multiple locations in town at one town and approach you unsolicited it becomes annoying. Nice town, great shops but it really turns me off. |

NO UNSOLICITED SOLICITING! |

You can always just say no, and in fact sometimes the begathons bother me too, but I just keep walking, and side-step the crowd, a very simple thing. |
