1. HORRIBLE management of keeping big kids out of Kid pool. Mothers and Toddlers are being forced to the sidelines.....
2. Lunch wait time ~ 15 minutes per order....I suppose it's fresh though :-) (but my chicken sammy was cooked 12 minutes too long and super dry)

Check out the food board - there's already a thread about this. (As well as a similar one in Please Help.)

Move to South Orange, or go with a SO friend.

Smart One- You need to talk to the managers, Eddie LaPierre or Maggie Singler, with any complaints. I'm sure they will be helpful.

I've often thought that if we must have adult swim (and I admit that sometimes I enjoy the quiet water during that time) then we should let the 7-17 year old crowd into the training pool and send the 6 and unders to the baby pool. My guess is few if any of the over 12s would actually go into the training pool voluntarily. The way it's written the policy is discriminatory only to the 6-17 year olds who may not be comfortable or competent in the diving tank. All other members may be in the water at all times.

The pool is great...we wouldn't be without it. We checked it out before we bought in Maplewood but my wife thinks 'adult swim' should be named 'adult stand'. Alternatively, there should be a 'stand and chat corner' so the 6-17 year olds don't have to keep getting in and out of the water.

No offense, but I survived many years of adult swim and I turned out just fine. In fact, it was the perfect time to stand in line at the snack bar. The wait to get back in the water just makes it all the sweeter when you're wet again.

Adult swim is bogus, you get about 4 old farts in the pool who can barely walk across it.
It lasts for twenty minutes out of every hour, that's a bunch of bullshÁt, I and many others that I have spoken to concerning this agree that adult swim should be limited to a certain area of the main pool, like on the lap side of the ropes, everything past the first rope. This would allow plenty of room for those 4 adults who only go in the pool during i{adult swim}, and for everyone else on the other (shallower) side.

I don't know who is in charge of making these absolutely asinine rules at the Maplewood pool, but they need to be slapped upside the head, maybe they/he/she, are one of the 4 old farts who only go in the pool during adult swim.

Oh yeah, I pay to use the pool, not to lose 20 minutes out of every hour on the use of it.

Adult swim is a great chance to get the kids home at the end of the day, and to get them re-sunscreened earlier, or just get them to sit and eat. I think it could be 15 minutes instead of 20, but am quite fond of it myself.

Oh, and the diving-board area remains open to kids, and that's where my son usually runs...or should I say walks?...when adult swim starts.

there are a lot of kids who are too big for the wading pool, yet not quite big enough for the diving pool.
when I want my kids to go home, or to eat, or whatever, I just tell them....

Referring to old people as "old farts" is offensive. Someday you will be old yourself. I hope that someone calls you an insulting name then.

I'm neither old nor a fart. I like adult swim! It doesn't hurt either that my husband doesn't swim (or stand around much in the water) so he is stuck watching the kiddos by default while I get to take a leisurely swim in the pool without bumping into and trying to avoid into a bobbing, goggled children.

Mmmm. Adult Swim. Actually personal space. Well, that was a nice metal break.

I have nothing against old farts, and with luck I will someday be an old fart (not just have a chair that smells like old farts), I find nothing offensive about it, it's not like I said doddering old fart.
To some people, I'm already an old fart, though I know I haven't reached that esteemed status as of yet, and I can never be an old and wizened crone.
