Has anyone heard anything about an anniversary celebration at the Maplewood Pool today? |

Saw signs up about the party at the pool yesterday. Sorry I don't remember too many specifics - some fun competitions for kids (grouped by age,) different food offerings (hot dogs, hambergers, etc.) can't remember much else, but it's definitely this afternoon. Maybe someone who's been there can report back? |

Anybody know if the party will affect open-swimming time today, esp. for kids? We were planning to go but my daughter doesn't want to go if we can't get into the water much for free play. (she's definitely not into the competitions etc.) |

Yesterday's festivities at the pool were a lot of fun. The weather was beautiful, the bands were entertaining and it was great to see the crowds at the pool. Congratulations to Roger and his staff, both lifeguards and patio, who worked especially hard making sure the day was safe and the patio stayed clean. A big thank you to John Sr., John Jr. and the staff at Freeman's Poolside. The BBQ was awesome. John & Helen, the kids you have working there worked hard to accomodate everyone. Please tell them "thank you" for a job well done. Thank you to all the bands who donated their time to play at the pool and entertain everyone. Too bad we will have to wait for another big event to enjoy a day like yesterday.
