Hmmmmmmmmm. Need some quick cash for the movies. The film is about to start. No time to run around the corner to the bank. So.........what's the smallest purchase in the supermarket so you can get cash back? My smallest purchase to date was one stringbean .03 I believe. Prior to that it was one chestnut. But I think that if I buy one peanut in Whole Foods it might set a new record low. Or maybe one oat.

Well they do NOW. But that is not going to stop me. I also like to pick up the hose in the vegetable department and squirt people.

I once bought one lettuce leaf in order to get back $40. I then proceeded to the customer service counter to return the wilted leaf and obtain a refund. I still made the beginning of the movie since the previews ran 25 minutes long. |

I used to work at a supermarket. A co-worker of mine needed cash, so he bought a bottle of store brand water (.25 cents) and put it in his debit, and then got $40 cash back. |

LOL, back when you used coins for the PATH I would often buy a paper I didn't want or a piece of candy to get change. I developed a habit of hording quarters. At the end of the day I would often have two bucks, eight quarters, in my pockets and my pants sagged. That is when I started wearing braces. If I need cash on a weekend, being a tightwad, I really hate to pay the two buck fee to use a cash machine, but I have never thought of going to the supermarket to be honest. |

There are only 2 Wachovia ATMs in all of Chicago. The 7-11 will give $35 back (usually buy coffee) , CVS $100 (usually by Gatorade), White Hen $50, ( usually buy a Sandwich). There is a list of stores on the Fridge for us to check on the way out of the Apartment. |

This is why you get hood rich. Then you always have those big, fat paperstacks. |

I once bought a $.01 piece of candy at Scout camp, with a nickel, so that I could get 4 pennies back for a poker game. I am not making this up, unfortunately.
