The service finished with the chorus singing 'God Bless America' and a video of fighter jets flying over a hill silhouetted with crosses."

Why don't you collective lazy liberals get off your fat duffs and do something then! The amount of empty rhetoric on this board by you libs is tremedous. I'm really beginning to believe the vast majority of you agree with us neo-cons because you continue to show it during the election process. Please, if you are as passionate as you appear then DO something and win an election or two. How else are us neo-cons suppose to give you a seat at the political table and take you seriously? |

Southerner: I am sure that some on here work in political campaigns and contribute to candidates. Certainly foj does. I live in Maplewood, New Jersey. Every election I vote for the Democrats and the Democrats win! The Governor is a Dem, both Senators are Dems, my Congressman and State Legislators are Dems, County Executive and Freeholders are Dems, all members of the Township Committee are Dems. Even the members of the Electoral College from NJ were Dems who voted for Kerry! There is not very much I can do about who gets elected in South Carolina, California, Alaska or Texas. I know the Pres and the Majority of the House and Senate are GOP, but what do you suggest I or any other MOLer do about it. What do you intend to do to keep the GOP majority? You already said you were voting to re-elect your Dem Congressman. And by the way, I am more effected by what the Governor, Freeholders and Township Committee do then what GWB & Co. do. They seem to be more interested in governing Iraq than the US. |

Southerener: You keep referring to yourself as a "neo-con". I do not think you are one. I think you are an old fashioned conservative. |

Because Jesus was an American, that's why. That, and God wants us to control the Middle East.

There are a lot of wack job conservative Christians. However, there are also a lot of people who think of themselves as Evangelical who don't worship at the alter of GWB and have IQs that put them in the top one percent or so of the population. A friend of my daughter's a classmate at the University of Chicago, considers herself an Evangelical, prays every night and, sort of, expects an answer. She cried when Kerry lost the election. She also is heading off to Harvard Law next year. Her score on the Law Boards was so high that she didn't fit into the percentile system they use. According to Ms. K she only missed one question on the test, although I find that hard to buy into. |

anon, I call myself a neo-con because that is what I've been called on this board. Maybe I'll call myself an ultra-liberal for awhile. You see, labels are meaningless, but they sure do irk many on MOL which is why I pepper my posts with them. Like most posters, my views run the full spectrum of political labeling. I am staunchly pro-choice, want embryonic stem cell research, don't care much for the few rabid bible thumpers, don't think gays should be allowed to marry, but have no problem with civil unions for similar benefits, staunch believer in trickle down economics, and see government "do good" programs as nothing but hand outs that is full of corruption (seen first hand). The main reason I tend to vote Republican is because of the economic models of the two parties. Both are far from perfect, but I've seen close up what the Democratic model of tax the rich (read:business) does to communities. We'd have a lot fewer folks on the government dole if small and big business were allowed to operate free from the array of government regulations they have hoisted upon them. But alas, I don't like getting into the minutae on this board. Let's simply have the battle on election day, and the side who wins should move forward with the mandate of the people. As for your point about all your Democrats winning, it is a good one. This only proves my point that the Republican philosophy is the majority view since Dems win where they are popular and Repubs win where they are popular. Look at the scoreboard and tell me how else to read it. More Repub Governors, more Reps, more Senators, and more Presidents. I won't even get into discussion of the highest taxed areas all being controlled by Dems, because I know I'll get the "everything is better here" speech. Turn left down Springfield Ave and then tell me. |

What is the topic? There is hope for America. What a ridiculous thread to start and even more ridiculous thread name. However I do like making inane posts because it so aggravates so many of you. But be advised I will continue to post my stuff as long as you libs continue to post yours. I don't make the rules, I simply obey them. Now you can continue to attack me because I'll enjoy reading it. Have a good evening and don't forget football starts in about a month. Maybe we will still have hope for America by then, but if not I'll still enjoy the games. |
