True, but while the Ligeti reports are usually based on the Ligeti personal preference, and usually are wrong (arguably), they do invoke interesting conversations from time to time.

I identify an important issues, gather research, poll the citizenry and report my findings. Hence, "Report." What's the big deal? At least I'm making a difference. |

Ligeti, just by asking yourself a question in the mirror doesn't constitute a true poll. |

Hey, what about his recent "report" concerning 'analog' vs. 'digital' radios? Don't get me wrong - it's just as pointless and ignorant as most of his other postings, but at least he's learned to be concise. I have to admit that I miss the good old days, when he would talk about his 'research assistants' that helped him conduct his 'polls'. (Don't say anything nasty here, folks - remember, make-believe people have feelings too!). If Ligeti wants to pretend to be doing research, why not let him? Anything that keeps the President safe (not to mention the US Mail system) is OK in my book. |

Ligeti is cleverer than the rest of us, because when he pulls your leg, you think he's serious.

Yes, it's almost genius how Ligeti has managed to convince most of us (except you, of course, Tom) that he's something of an autistic "anti-technology idiot savant"... with the unfortunate exception of the computer - I wish he'd realize that writing his thoughts on yellow pads would be more efficient than posting them here! ;) You have to ask yourself, though: why would someone spend so much time and effort pretending to be hypocritical and moronic? (Not that he's not a HUGE asset to the message board community, of course - goodness knows he's quite a contributor, always there to help out with wisdom... pardon me, I mean "reports"). At least the Unibomber didn't use a computer to publish his manifesto of anti-technology... now THERE'S a mouth-breather with the courage of his convictions!

I've done computer work for him, and I've met him at school events. Our daughters are peers. He's real. We've had some pretty raucous laughs over the pretentious stuff he has said here and over your reactions to them. You don't fail to come back at him, so what's the point in mentioning how prolific he is?

Bascially, Tom, what I'm hearing is that he just 'acts' like a complete idiot in order to elicit responses from people... which I have to say is a really fine contribution to the message board. Whatever would we do without him? I'm glad he's having so much fun with his 'act'; I'm sure it is VERY difficult to pull off! I do think it's just wonderful, though, that his sole purpose in posting on MOL is to 'act' like an idiot and get people to explain to him why he's wrong about things. It's really very clever, and certainly a worthwhile endeavor. Thanks once again for pointing out that "he's just joking", "he's not really a drooling moron" and "the joke is on us". I'm sure everyone who doesn't respond to Ligeti sees the incredible humor! I wonder why he needs this kind of attention?

Speaking for attention-starved, mouth-breathing idiots everywhere, I take issue with Case's assertion that Ligeti (or any of us, and we all know who we are...) is "acting". We have embraced our MOL selves, is all. -s. |

Are you formally disputing the findings in my report on analogue radios or what? No need to beat around the bush. Just say it, already. Always reject wireless digital gadgets and computers when common sense low tech solutions are available. |

You don't need cell phones to talk to imaginary people - from what I can tell, they're always right there in your head whenever you feel like you need a friend. I have to say that I can't figure out what's worse: if Tom is right and Ligeti is just one of those online 'annoying and stupid' people, or if Ligeti actually lives his real life the way he portrays it on MOL. The former case is sad; the latter case, pathetic. Or do I have that reversed?

You are all posting as if Ligeti is the ONLY online fictional persona. Please, you must not be so exclusive with your scorn. There are at least 20 others, I would guess, and probably a dozen I could tick off if I thought about it. Be generous with your scorn. One man's simple entertainment is another man's/woman's annoyance. It goes on here daily. |

Why does it bug you guys so much when I find clever ways to outfox the latest digital gadgets with low technology? My methods are real, and they are helping people who were formerly addicted to solving everything with computers, noise, and needless wireless transmissions. At work, at play, on the train. And that's no bull. Report: digital lifestyle on the wane. |

I'll take a guess: you (Glock) posted an observation that Ligeti's threads are usually content-free. I guess that qualifies as an attack. (You may need to wear the 'badge of shame' for awhile!).
