Ocean Twp. man indicted on child porn and sexual assault counts
A building contractor from Ocean Township has been indicted on 429 counts of manufacturing child pornography and other charges that he sexually assaulted the children of his clients and secretly videotaped some of the attacks in their own homes.
In announcing the indictment against Clement Bilski Jr., Monmouth County Prosecutor Luis Valentin said police are continuing the investigation into a ``deviant sexual predator who targeted the most innocent and defenseless members of our community to abuse for his onw gratification.''
Bilski, 43, is accused of sexually assaulting nine girls and two boys through a nunmber of different sexual acts and using various sexual devices and other objects, the prosecutor said at a press conference in Freehold. Bilski also allegedly videotaped another 31 men, women and children in various stages of undress by secretly installing camera equipment in the homes he had renovated, according to the prosecutor.
Among other offenses, the indictment charges Bilski with 74 counts of aggravated sexual assault, 30 counts of sexual assault and six counts of criminal restraint. The prosecutor said Bilski used rope and other ``weapons'' to restrain some of the children during the attacks, which occurred between 1998 and 2005. The alleged victims range in age from 23 months old to 8 years old.
A self-employed home improvement contractor, Bilski operated his business under the names of Bilski Home Improvement, Bilco Home Improvement and J&Z Construction.
The case came to light after Maryland State Police alerted New Jersey State Police that a computer traced to Bilski was ``sharing'' with other internet users a video depicting the sexual abuse of a child. Bilski is not accused of sexually assaulting the child in that video.
When police executed a search warrant at his Maple Street home on April 21, they said they found numerous videotapes of child sexual assaults.
