My kids and I use Maplecrest Park a lot and we used to use the field closest to Springfield Ave. but it appears that it has been written off by the Parks Dept. and it hasn't been maintained in about two years. There is always a huge puddle in the middle of it and the infield will soon be completely covered in grass. I'm waiting to hear back from Public Works to find out if there are any plans to either fix it properly for use as a ball field or take down the outfield fence and make that space useable for some other activities. It seems to me that it's a lot of space to be wasted and go unused in a public park and I feel like that space can be put to better use than just an eyesore.  |
