I recall that Jcrohn had one of the very finest posts of 2003 - it was about the complexities of achieving peace for Israel. |

If I annoyed anyone with my truth-telling posts, I apologize. I am sorry, deeply sorry that any attempt to elevate the tone and depth of a discussion is dismissed as elitism. Yet more evidence that the Founding Fathers were right when they set up a system whereby only Representatives were directly elected, and Senators were appointed. |

If you elevated the discussion any further it would be of significant annoyance to my knee. |

I'm sorry Dave, but I must protest most resolutely. I am wholly against any contest that may lead to the perception that an elite group of people are "winners" , in any category, leaving open the strong possibilty that those not chosen would then be considered "losers". There is no place for such a negative, self-esteem annihilating competition on this hallowed message board. Again, I apologize Dave, but I just had to get that off my chest. Happy Winter Solstice Too All !

Goofiest, craziest, wackiest poster award: No contest - Crazy Guggenheim He brings a useful bit of insanity to an otherwise much too serious group of posters. |

Michael has a point. This thread is beginning to sound a lot like Mem's ill-fated slam book discussion. I would propose a list of links to memorable threads which benefited from the interaction between many posters. This would celebrate the dynamic that is MOL while playing down individual rivalries. |

Mem: About a year ago an anonymous poster started a thread of who and what was cool and not cool. If i remember correctly, it went on for several hundred posts and resulted in so much contraversy that the originator of the thread was eventually suspended. Several months later you claimed to be the poster who had started the thread. I just assumed you were telling the truth. My apologies if I jumped to the wrong conclusion. Joan |
