Not saying the charges are true or false. But to find the truth, we would have to know what percentage of blacks commit the crimes and compare it to the percentage of blacks apprehended. Those figures are hard to obtain even if we are very scrupulous and thorough. So it's hard to know the truth.
My guess is that there's a bit of truth and a bit of exaggeration on both sides. The cops see patterns of black kids causing troubles so they unconsciously look at black kids with more suspicion. They may do this subconsciously, but still, they should get training against this and try to be as conscious as possible.
And I also guess that blacks see the high number of blacks apprehended and conclude there is a bias and call racism. And there probably is an element of racism, but they may not be facing the fact that a large number of bad stuff is done by blacks. And that probably has a lot to do with economics more than ethnicity, but whatever the reasons, the statistics are discouraging.

Tawana Brawley made up her entire story and the police involved had their careers and lives ruined by Tawana and Al Sharpton. Al Sharpton was sued successfully following the entire fiasco.
I don't see any relation between Tawana's lies and this incident. |

Sharpton has also gone to great lengths to avoid paying one cent of the judgment against him. This alone should be good enough reason for the Democrats to stop playing nice with him. |

My point is, Al Sharpton stood behind Tawanna because he thought she was telling the truth. Just like the police stood behind Smith, Peterson and Stuart when they accused black men.
What is it with you JerryC? If a black leader isn't handling black issues the way you think he should, you bash them? Is the only reason you like Bill Cosby because you agree with him in bashing blacks and their behavior?
